Chapter 13: The Stunt Club Conquest
ENFP stood with his arms outstretched in front of the stunt club, a beaming smile on his face, ready to take on his new responsibilities. He had been elected president… well, the previous president had had to leave after an unfortunate incident involving a bad fall and a broken rib. But regardless, ENFP was ready to make this club the most fun place in school.
The only problem? The other members didn’t seem as enthusiastic.
Sam, the most famous member of the club, known for his spectacular stunts, stared blankly at ENFP. The other members didn’t fare much better, wearing expressions ranging from resignation to disbelief.
—Sam: “Why him?”
Faced with this silent rejection, ENFP decided to ask for help. And who better than INTP, the strategy expert… who wasn’t even a member of the club?
INTP was sitting under a tree, holding a book, when ENFP approached him.
—ENFP: “INTP, I need you. The other members don’t want me as their leader.”
—INTP (without looking up): “And why are you coming to see me? I’m not part of your club.”
An awkward silence followed. ENFP took a piece of paper out of his jacket pocket and handed it to INTP.
—ENFP: “Actually… you’re a member. Your name is on the list.”
—INTP (looking at the paper suspiciously): “How is that possible? Who made this list?”
—ENFP, shrugging, smiling: “Who knows? The magic of lists…”
INTP sighed, but finally decided to offer some “advice.”
—INTP: “If you want to win the hearts of the members, you have to prove yourself to them. Hit them where it counts.” »
The next day, ENFP tried to implement INTP’s advice. He tried several approaches. First, he proposed a series of acrobatic stunts during training, but it ended with a spectacular fall… and a leg in a cast for one of the members.
Then, he proposed an inspiring meeting where he wanted to motivate the team, but Sam fell asleep after five minutes. Total failure.
The days passed, and despite all his efforts, ENFP still couldn’t establish himself as the charismatic president he hoped to be. The other members looked at him with pity, while INTP watched from afar, both amused and a little despaired by his friend’s attempts.
One day, during a hike organized by the club, something unexpected happened. In the middle of a steep path, ENFP found himself alone with Sam, the one who despised him the most. They walked in silence for a while, until ENFP couldn’t stand the tense atmosphere any longer.
—ENFP: “Listen, Sam… why don’t you like me? I really mean well.”
Sam stopped and looked at him.
—Sam: “It’s not that I don’t like you. It’s just that you’re not like the other presidents. All the others were more… disciplined. You’re different.”
ENFP raised his eyebrows.
—ENFP: “Different is good, right?”
Sam smiled slightly for the first time.
—Sam: “Maybe. I just think we’re not used to it. But… you’ve been trying hard. I guess we should give you a chance.” »
That simple exchange was a turning point. Little by little, ENFP began to be more accepted by the other members of the club, even by Sam. They began to listen to him, laugh with him, and even appreciate his boundless energy. What was even stranger was that ENFP began to feel particularly close to Sam. He didn't really know why, but he really enjoyed his company.
Love? ENFP wondered, observing Sam one day.
Who knows...
