Chapter 23: The Future Dictators Club
The chapter opens in a dark, spacious room, illuminated by a single lamp hanging over the meeting table of the Future Dictators and Tyrants Club. ENTJ, the club president, sits at the head of the table, observing the members with a calculating gaze. To his right, ESTJ, his secretary, takes meticulous notes. To his left, INFJ adjusts his glasses while flipping through documents, ready to present his perspective on the day’s topic: “How to Handle a Rebellion.”
ENTJ (calm and authoritative): “Let’s begin. INFJ, your thoughts on the matter.”
INFJ smiles confidently and starts presenting a methodical and strategic analysis.
INFJ (composed): “In the face of rebellion, it’s crucial to understand the rebels’ motivations. By listening to them and identifying their psychological weaknesses, we can control them. Subtle manipulation is far more effective than brute repression.”
ESTJ furrows her brow, clearly disagreeing. Her eyes turn to ENTJ, who nods, signaling her to speak.
ESTJ (firm): “I disagree. Brute force is necessary. Discipline and immediate punishment are the only ways to maintain order. Allowing a rebellion to breathe is risking escalation.”
INFJ raises an eyebrow and smirks slightly, ready to counter. ENTJ leans forward slightly, observing the growing tension between his two lieutenants.
INFJ (calm yet provocative): “Ah, but that’s where you’re mistaken. Punishing without understanding leaves embers beneath the ashes. The key is to let the rebels believe they’ve gained some ground, only to have them lose their footing in their own illusions.”
ESTJ (irritated): “Illusions? You mean compromises? You think letting them believe they hold power will calm them? No, they’ll only want more.”
The debate heats up. INFJ’s arguments seem to gain traction, while ESTJ begins to lose patience. ENTJ, with a gesture, decides to end the discussion before it escalates.
ENTJ (calm): “The debate is closed. INFJ, you’ve made valid points, but… this isn’t a matter we can settle yet.”
Furious, ESTJ storms out of the room like a sore loser, her heels echoing against the dark floor.
Moments later, the door bursts open. ENTP, perpetually late, strolls in whistling, a cheeky grin on his face.
ENTP (pulling a face): “What? Did I miss something? I bet myself the debate wouldn’t start without me. I won.”
ENTJ (exasperated): “Shut up, ENTP.”
INFJ straightens up, ready to clash with ENTP’s interruption.
INFJ (ironic, restrained): “You missed the most interesting part, though I doubt it concerns you.”
ENTP (delighted by the jab): “Oh, really? What were you talking about? Ah, rebellion! My favorite topic.”
ENTJ tries to maintain composure as ENTP nonchalantly takes a seat and begins to share his own theory.
ENTP (enthusiastic): “Here’s what I think. Why suppress a rebellion when you can make it irrelevant? I say, integrate the rebels into our system and watch them self-destruct! They think they’ve won, but they’re actually working for us.”
For the first time, INFJ seems unsettled by ENTP’s unconventional ideas.
INFJ (exasperated): “That makes no sense. Your approach is too chaotic. You can’t let the rebels believe they have power, even if it’s fake. They’ll eventually take control.”
ENTP (teasing): “Ah, but that’s where you’re wrong, dear INFJ. Chaos is sometimes disguised order. If we let them think they’re in charge, they’ll tire themselves out serving us.”
INFJ (losing patience): “That’s absurd. Allowing a rebellion to run, even with illusions, risks a real crisis.”
The tension quickly rises between the two. ENTJ, who had been silently observing, finally steps in to prevent things from spiraling out of control.
ENTJ (stern): “Stop. Both methods are intriguing, but I propose a different solution.”
INFJ and ENTP fall silent, surprised.
ENTJ (calm but resolute): “Why waste time manipulating or integrating them? Let them rebel, then gather their leaders for a summit. A completely rigged summit, of course. While they’re busy debating, we ensure they can’t regain ground on the field. In one move, we clip their wings and maintain control.”
A silence follows this declaration. INFJ and ENTP, initially reluctant, recognize the simplicity and effectiveness of ENTJ’s approach. They begrudgingly nod.
ENTJ (cold): “Meeting adjourned.”
Moments later, ENTJ finds ESTJ still fuming in the hallway. Instead of comforting her, he gives her a calculating look.
ENTJ (serious): “If you want to convince the others next time, strike where it hurts. Don’t be too rigid. Let them think they have a chance to beat you. When they lower their guard, you can impose your ideas without resistance.”
ESTJ remains silent, absorbing this unexpected advice. She nods subtly, realizing it wasn’t just a debate… it was a lesson.
The chapter ends on an intriguing note, hinting at the complex dynamics between these young “tyrants in training.”
