The evening air was cool as Jules strolled through the bustling streets, her mind clouded by Ava's words. "You can't control who you fall in love with," Ava had said, her voice firm yet tinged with understanding. Jules sighed heavily. Though I knew it was wrong... I couldn't stop it, she thought, her heart and mind at war. The streetlights cast a warm glow, their flickering light reflecting her inner turmoil.
Suddenly, a warm hand clasped hers, pulling her gently but firmly out of her thoughts. Startled, she turned to see Sky, his presence commanding yet oddly comforting. He stood there in a black, effortlessly luxurious outfit that shimmered subtly under the streetlights, making him look like gold personified.
"Sir Sky," Jules whispered fearfully, her voice trembling as she scanned the surroundings.
Sky's expression darkened with confusion. "Are you disgusted with me?" he asked, his voice soft but laced with vulnerability.
"No, it's not that," Jules replied hurriedly. "It's just... I don't want others to look at you in a bad way."
Sky's gaze softened, and a faint smile tugged at his lips. "I don't care how people look at me—good or bad. I just want to hold my lover's hand. Is that too much to ask?" He took both her hands firmly but gently, his sincerity unmistakable. "I want to treat you with respect, Jules. You deserve nothing less."
Jules couldn't suppress a small smile. "You always have so much to say," she teased, her voice softening.
Sky chuckled lightly, his eyes alight with curiosity. "How about a trip together? Just the two of us."
"A trip?" Jules echoed, looking at him with hesitation.
"Japan, maybe? It's peaceful, and no one will find us there," Sky suggested, his enthusiasm bubbling.
Jules hesitated, her brows furrowing slightly. "I'd love to... but I don't like planes."
Sky tilted his head, genuinely puzzled. "Why? You fly to Thailand often, don't you?"
"I do," Jules admitted, "but I've never been fond of flying."
Sky's expression turned thoughtful for a moment before brightening. "Then let's do a domestic trip. No planes, just us. What do you say?"
Jules hesitated again, her practicality kicking in. "Sir Sky, I still have work. I'm your employee, remember?"
"It's Friday," Sky reminded her with a grin. "We have the whole weekend before Monday. Let's go."
Before she could protest further, Sky took her hand and led her to his cherished "Black Knight." Before long, they found themselves at a luxurious beachside resort.
The evening had settled in by the time they reached the reception area, where a warm and elegant woman greeted them. "Hello, you must be Mr. Sky and Ms. Jules," she said with a polite smile.
"That's right," Sky confirmed.
"I've been expecting you. Welcome," she said graciously.
Sky raised an eyebrow. "You're the owner of this place, aren't you?"
"Well..." the woman, Riya, began, but before she could continue, a tall man with a confident air strode into the room, his tousled hair catching the soft glow of the chandelier.
"No, that would be me," the man interjected, his voice smooth yet teasing. "By the way, does that black car outside belong to you?"
"Yes, it does," Sky replied, his tone growing clipped.
The man smirked. "You must be doing pretty well for yourself. You don't exactly look it, though."
Riya groaned softly and gave the man a nudge. "That's enough, Erik." Turning back to Sky and Jules, she offered an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry. My partner tends to speak before thinking."
Sky nodded curtly. "He should think a little more often."
Erik looked genuinely amused as Riya dragged him away. "I'll get your keys," she called over her shoulder.
Sky watched Erik leave, his jaw tightening, while Jules stifled a laugh at the entire exchange. Soon, they were shown to their room—a spacious suite with an expansive view of the beach. Jules opened the backdoor, revealing the moonlit waves lapping against the shore.
"So beautiful," Sky murmured, facing her.
"How wonderful it would be if we could stay here forever," Jules said wistfully, her voice soft.
Sky gently placed his hands on her shoulders. "Then let's do that—just for tonight. Let's not care about anything or anyone else. Let's be like other couples. Let's be as affectionate as we want." His voice was tender, his words a promise.
The night passed in serene bliss, their worries temporarily forgotten.
