"Sometimes, the hardest battles are fought in silence, and the most painful decisions are made without a word spoken."
Sky stepped out of the elevator, his face a portrait of torment, tears streaking down his cheeks as he sobbed uncontrollably. His footsteps echoed in the empty hospital corridor, his breath ragged as he searched for answers. He reached the doctor, his voice cracking as he spoke.
"Excuse me... could you tell me Lady Arina Chandler's condition, please?"
The doctor paused, taking in Sky's anguished appearance. "Please, calm down. She's under treatment right now," the doctor replied, his tone gentle yet firm before he turned to leave.
Sky's heart pounded as he stared after the doctor, helplessness gripping him. Just then, Silvy's voice broke through the haze of his sorrow, her own tears mirroring his.
"Why didn't you listen to me? Did I tell you to rebel against her?" Silvy cried, her voice choked with emotion.
"I had to come, regardless. She's ill," Sky said, his voice strained with pain.
Silvy's words cut through him. "You've lost to her."
Sky's face hardened, but his eyes remained filled with worry. "I no longer care about winning or losing, Silvy," he said, his tone soft but firm. "I just want her to live."
Silvy's lips trembled as tears fell freely. "You're weak," she said, her voice thick with emotion.
Sky met her gaze, his own voice laced with sorrow. "Right, I'm weak. So are you," he said quietly. "That's why you're sitting here, too."
"I'm here to make sure she doesn't die," Silvy replied, forcing a smile that didn't reach her eyes.
Sky scoffed, shaking his head. "Bullshit. You smile like that when you're stressed out."
Silvy blinked, surprised by his words. "Do you still remember that?" she asked, her voice softening.
Sky's gaze turned distant, his mind struggling to hold onto the fragments of his thoughts. "Don't forget to break up with Mon," Silvy added, her tone sharp. "If you've chosen Grandma, at least she can find happiness in her own way."
Sky's heart sank, but he remained silent, unable to find the words to respond.
The hours dragged on, and after an excruciatingly long night, the doctor approached Sky with heavy news. "Your grandmother had a pulmonary embolism for 10 years already," the doctor explained, his face somber. "Our team of physicians... we tried our best to treat her. I want you to stay close to the patient, make sure she takes her medications regularly. Most importantly, refrain from any actions that will trigger her."
Sky stood frozen, his mind racing with the weight of the doctor's words. He turned his gaze to Lady Arina, who lay resting, her condition fragile and uncertain.
As he stood there, the phone in his pocket vibrated. It was Jules. He ignored the call, tears falling onto the screen as the call cut off.
Three days passed, and the silence between Sky and Jules became unbearable. Jules, still waiting in the emptiness of his house, could no longer wait. She dialed his number one last time, but when there was no answer, she texted him. Still, no response came.
Jules, feeling the weight of her own heartbreak, stood at the doorway of his house. It had never truly felt like hers, and now, standing there for the final time, she understood why. She looked back at the house one last time, a tear slipping down her cheek, her lips curling into a small, sad smile.
"Okay... now it's finally time for reality," she thought. "The fan girl moment has come to an end. The end that was destined a long time ago."
With one final look, she turned away from the house, the silence speaking louder than any words ever could.
