Authors Note: Howdy! Sorry for such a long break in this story. I've been in the most busy semester of school ever and never found the time, nor the energy to write this. But I had a little extra time now coming to the end of my semester, and I ended up writing this whole chapter in two nights. Anyway, hopefully, my next updates won't be so far apart. I hope y'all enjoy the chapter, it's quite angsty. I guess I was feeling a sort of way the night I wrote this.

You watched as Newt rose from the log with a huff, heading toward the food and drink stations. Unease settled in your chest. You didn't mean for Newt to feel jealous of Minho, but deep down, you couldn't entirely blame him. Going after Minho last night had been a foolish and impulsive choice, one you wouldn't have made if it hadn't been for Newt and Harriette's flirtatious behavior. It was meant to be a petty act of revenge, a way to make Newt feel the same jealousy you had endured. Okay, maybe you did mean to make Newt jealous...

You got up from your seat and made your way back over to Brenda. You weren't one for girl talk, but damn did you need a girl to talk to right now. Brenda and Thomas were sitting on a log near the fire, chatting quietly. Just as you approached, Thomas got up to refill his drink, leaving Brenda alone. Perfect timing.

"Well, that was dramatic of Gally," Brenda huffed as you sat down beside her.

"I don't know what his problem is," you muttered, biting your lip in an attempt to keep your anger in check. Frustration bubbled up as you dropped your head into your hands, staring at the ground. It felt like the whole group hated you now, all because of one stupid mistake-a mistake you regretted deeply.

"So," Brenda nudged you lightly, "are we talking about it, or are you just going to sit here and brood?"

"What am I supposed to say?" you snapped, exhaling sharply. "That I messed up, made my best friend confess his feelings for me, and then kissed his best friend the next morning?"

"That works," Brenda replied matter-of-factly, taking a sip from her drink. "But what's Gally's deal with you? Why is he so pissed?"

"Because he's a jerk, and he's always hated me," you grumbled.

"You sure about that?" Brenda asked, raising an eyebrow.

You glanced at her, narrowing your eyes in suspicion. Her expression didn't waver, calm and challenging, as if she were waiting for something to click.

"What's that supposed to mean?" you muttered, confused by her cryptic response.

"If he hates you so much, then why does he care so much about what you do and who you kiss, huh?" Brenda nudged you playfully, her words striking a nerve.

"Are you... are you trying to say that he..." The thought made your stomach turn, and you cut yourself off, refusing to say the rest out loud.

"I'm just saying," Brenda continued, "I think he cares more about you than you realize. Maybe he even has feelings for-"

"No! Absolutely not!" You cut her off sharply, standing up from your spot next to her. "I can't believe I even came to you with this!"

"Y/N, wait, I didn't mean to upset you. I'm sorry, I-"

"Forget it!" you snapped, refusing to hear her out. "I'm going to find my boyfriend!" You practically spat the word, emphasizing it to drive the point home. You were happy with Newt, and you didn't need anyone planting ridiculous ideas in your head, especially about someone you could barely tolerate.
