chapter thirteen. (cotswolds)

Vivian knew exactly where she was going as soon as she sat in the drivers seat of the car the pair had been offered, the brunette woman was unaware as to who the owner was yet didn't think twice about it. All her thoughts felt unimportant at this time, all that mattered to her was getting Siobhan as far away from that situation as she could.

When she saw Siobhan that evening she couldn't believe it, the woman stood in front of her was not the same she met. The blonde looked empty and so very defeated, it broke Vivs heart to see her break down the way she had. She was safe now and would be for the rest of her life, Vivian would make sure of it.

The drive was long and Siobhan had fallen asleep. Viv called Sara and asked if she could watch Jamie for a few more days, her friend agreed in an instant. Sara had always known that Vivian had never seen Siobhan as a friend, it was always something more, the way she would talk about her was love and it was clear.

The car pulled into the car park of the hotel the brunette had asked Sara to book, she looked at Siobhan who was sleeping so peacefully. She looked so beautiful. Vivian lightly tapped her on the shoulder watching as the blondes eyes gently fluttered open. Once Siobhan had woken up Vivian took her hand and led her to where they were staying.

Vivian had made sure everything was sorted, which had evidently made Siobhan cry out of shock, it broke Viv when she realised the beautiful blonde in front of her hadn't felt proper love or care before. Siobhan only deserved the best in Vivians opinion, she deserved all the love and care this world had to offer, she deserved it all.

The two ended up taking a walk to a local pub, they sat in silence for a while until Siobhan said something. "Thank you Viv, thank you for everything" The brunette looked back in complete shock "Bon Bon, you don't need to thank me. I only care that you're safe" Siobhan laughed and apologised for her constant apologies and thanks. Viv just laughed "you're saying sorry again"

The pair spent the next few hours laughing and sharing stories from their past, not touching on the bad things to keep everything light. Vivian shared some stories of Jamie growing up as Siobhan looked her in the eyes a smile spreading across her face, she couldn't wait to make memories with this sweet young boy.

They made there way back to the hotel and planned to retreat to bed almost immediately, Viv had decided to sleep on the sofa to give Siobhan the space that she probably needed yet her efforts failed as once they were ready to sleep the blonde grabbed Vivian by the waist and playfully pulled her down next to her before kissing her gently and saying "I love you" over and over again. The two fell asleep wrapped in each other arms, neither one had felt this safe their entire lives.

Siobhan woke up first and panicked before remembering yesterday's events, she turned and saw Viv peacefully sleeping her hands each side of the blondes waist. In that moment Siobhan realised this was truly all she wanted, she had never loved a man, her self hatred had stopped her seeing her true feelings. She loved women, no. She loved Vivian, she really and truly loved her with her entire heart. It was her and it would always be her.

Her smile didn't last long as she saw the bruises that covered her body, all inflicted the night before her wedding. Roger had found Siobhan crying and without thinking decided in his mind she was going to leave him, he grabbed the woman by her hair and shoved her against a wall before beating her relentlessly. Tears welled in her eyes as she thought why, why would she let someone treat her this way. The blonde began to panic and attempted to move without waking the sleeping woman next to her hoping she could quickly cover her arms and legs without Viv noticing.

Viv woke up and saw Siobhan staring at her body in sadness, trying to put a top on quickly. She began to realise Shibs was worried about what she would think, her heart shattered. Siobhan realised that Vivian had woken up and span round in a panic "Bon Bon" the brunette said softly "you don't need to hide anything from me, I love you. I love everything about you" Vivian stood up and walked over to the beautiful blonde taking her hands and leading her back to bed she kissed each of the bruises one by one while repeating the words "you're safe now, I love you"

The rest of their days spent away felt like a dream to the both of them, they felt such love and care. Vivian decided to ask Siobhan a very important question on the last day of their stay, she'd had it in the back of her mind since they had escaped the Knight family home "Bon Bon, will you be Jamie's Step mum" The blonde looked at her in shock before a smile spread across her face and she said "yes" over and over agai
