chapter nineteen. (never let you go)

Autumn had never seen herself being in love, she was always seen as weird during her time in school and throughout her prior work life. She had figured it would be just her and her sweet cat Cadaver forever. Winter wasn't fond of her when the two met and truthfully Aut wasn't his biggest fan either, they just didn't connect.

A drunken night at a halloween party was all it took, they saw each other in a new way now. The two connected on an intimate level and from then on their relationship continued. Hiding it seemed like the best choice, they knew what their colleagues were like. Mistakes were made during this time, for example the glasses mix up and Aut smelling of Lynx Africa yet it wasn't until the fire that things were finally revealed.

The two had been there that night, the fire wasn't their fault it was Roger's yet of course Autumn covered for him. It was natural to her at this point, she'd been hiding his behaviour for years. The payout after he finally died would lack if his actions were discovered and truthfully as much as she'd love to see him suffer his well deserved consequences she would rather the money.

The night the events of the fire were revealed their relationship was announced as well, it was only to cover for the two of them yet it was about time. Their relationship had moved from purely physical attraction to love at this point and Winter was getting hit on by parents more and more everyday and Aut was honestly growing really tired of their antics.

The two discovered they were pregnant yet lost the baby in June of 2024, it broke Autumn. Her tough shell had no choice but to crumble that day, she allowed Marjorie into her personal space a hug between the two friends at last. It wasn't long after these events that Winter proposed, he'd been carrying the ring around for some time and asked her on impulse after she'd knocked the newest staff member out due to her attacking Winter and blaming him for her losing her job. The two were married, the ceremony was just them. It was perfect, intimate and gothic just the way Autumn had always imagined her big day. It was just her, Winter and their love.

Winter hadn't given a second thought to Roger and that made Aut love him more somehow, she loved him more than life so the growth in her adoration was something she hadn't seen possible. The two announced their pregnancy at the Knight ball that year, they were having their rainbow baby and they had never been happier.

Reece had moved close to the couple and was stopping by a lot more than Aut would've liked. She loved having her brother back in her life yet she much preferred her personal space just her, Winter and Cadaver. The baby was due on her father's birthday and she was undeniably devastated by that, Reece however let her see it from a new perspective. Her narcissistic father would have to share a day that had always been his and his only. Autumn finally had her happy ending.
