Mia saw Charlotte for the first time and felt something she hadn't experienced before, she had planned to come to the nursery and cause problems yet Char didn't deserve her cold treatment. Mia knew something was up with the sweet woman pretty much instantly but knew Char didn't want whatever was bothering her getting out, it wasn't until she noticed Charlotte switched her wedding ring to a new finger to flirt with her. That was the closest she had ever gotten to taking it off.
Everything came to a head when Mia was fired, she told everyone every detail of what she had endured before hinting to Char that she was aware as to what was going on in her life and leaving. Mia's plan was to leave the country, travel and find her dad in her own time. Reece called her and told her Char needed help so she stopped everything she was doing in an instant and went straight to find the brunette.
Charlotte was alone at a bar, the bar she had told Mia they should go to together. The woman wasn't predictable but Mia knew her, she knew her better than she knew herself which was rather amazing considering that they hadn't had many interactions. Char took the ring off and looked undoubtedly relieved until Mia revealed she was leaving, the brunette looked defeated. Mia told her she'd come back at some point and she did, she would never break a promise made to Charlotte.
The two spent the night at Mia's, holding hands and talking about everything. Mia had never opened up to anyone the way she had with Char that night, she felt safe in her presence. Charlotte had told her she was welcome to tell Marjorie what had been taking place and why she had been acting the way she had recently. Mia did as the woman told her as well as giving Marjorie a piece of her mind, she knew Reece had seen them yet knew he wasn't going to stop it. The blonde may have been utterly in love with Marjorie but he wasn't stupid, he knew she deserved to hear what Mia had to say.
Mia wanted to move slow with Charlotte, she knew the brunette was hurting and also knew that Mia was the first woman she had been with. Mia wanted nothing more than to kiss her yet held off until Char made the first move which she did sooner than Mia had expected. It was perfect, all Char had to say was "Mia just kiss me" and she did, she kissed her like she was the only person in the world. Truthfully Charlotte was the only person in the world in Mia's head, she was everything, absolutely everything. The way she cared so deeply about everyone in her life, the way she was slowly developing her very overdue backbone and the way her smile lit up the red haired woman's life. Mia loved it all, she loved every bit, she loved Char more than she ever thought possible.
Charlotte was her reason to keep going, she was the light in her life, she was her forever person. The two became each other's everything, Mia had never seen herself having kids yet she would watch the world burn for Chars two daughters, protecting them and Charlotte felt like her purpose in life, a purpose that she would never want to change. The woman hated being in England, her skin would crawl whenever she was back yet Char made it bearable. Mia would sit in her girlfriend's arms and talk to her about everything while Char just listened, she never felt judged, she never felt like a burden, she just felt safe, loved and complete.
The more she opened up to Char the lighter she felt, it became easier to stay in the country longer and longer each time. Mia would always stay at Char's during her stay, having basically moved in at this point. Charlotte's daughters seemed to really like her, Mia would teach them self defence and let the two of them do her hair and nails from time to time. Mia felt like she had a family at last.
The woman had recently been visiting a lot of jewellery shops, now her beautiful girlfriends divorce was finalised she was planning on proposing at some point in the near future but wanted to start looking for the ring now so that she had time to make sure it was perfect. Char only deserved perfect. Mia knew she wasn't perfect, she was flawed yet Charlotte always made her feel like she was truly the most perfect and important person on the planet.
Charlotte was everything Mia could've ever wanted and more, she was just everything. The brunette was a light in the dark, she was a safe space. Home wasn't four walls to Mia it was Charlotte, Charlotte was her home.
