THE CALIFORNIA WEATHER was nice earlier in the day but now it was more cool, the nightly breeze hit Olivia like a freight train. She had made her way into the bathroom and stood right in front of the mirror taking a steps back twirling her legs a bit ensuring her outfit look good.

Her outfit for the night was a dark wash skinny jeans that accentuated her waist and hugged her lefts beautifully. Her eyes gazing to her soft pale blush colored blouse. The blouse had long, billowly sleeves and the lace detailing along the neckline made it much more elegant. Right on top she wore a light denim jacket for a casual touch and of course she continued to wear her trusty white converse. Her outfit smelled like her lavander detergent so she was very considerate with how much perfume she put on not wanting to completely smell to overpowering.

However Olivia felt the need to add much more lipgloss to her lips, she was standing there extremely nervous no idea how this first date with Tommy would go.

Tommy on the other hand was just pulling up, in his mind he was making mental notes on how to not fuck things up tonight. Gavin had given the shortstop some good pointers but Edman knew better then to trust Gavin so he discarded them and sat looking himself at the mirror.

"Is my shirt okay? Is it too wrinkled?" He asked himself looking at the car mirror the one that hung over the driver's seat. "Is my hair looking decent?" running his fingers right through his short hair. 

Edman only gave himself a quick second to take in a deep breathe and letting it out before deciding it was go time. As he walked through the entrance looking for the educator his eyes only saw the lobby bustling with activity, a fluorescent flow showcasing the posters for the upcoming films. People were either lined up at the ticket counter or near the concession stands that displayed rows and rows of snacks and drinks. 

As he continued to search his nose was only met with the smell of popcorn and the salty butter that took over the air, once he realized maybe it was best to message her he took his phone out of his pocket and headed towards their chat.

Im in the lobby, you close by? his fingers hovering over the send message button wondering if he was coming off as to desperate. 

As soon as he had mustered the courage to send a voice was behind him, "Sorry I was in the bathroom, hope I didn't keep you waiting to long?" Edman quickly turned around seeing Olivia. His eyes traveling up and down and he tried so hard to not lick his lips but he just couldn't. She looked ethereal to him.

Olivia as well on the same boat couldn't help but admire the player right in front of her, here he was right in front of her wearing a casual outfit for their date. Tommy had on well fitted dark denim jeans, a navy blue button-down shirt and a nice pair of white sneakers. His cologne was nice, fresh, and subtle  it was citrusy and a earthy smell. 

"Uhm..." Tommy's face was starting to turn pink he was clearly in it for the girl, "You look stunning." his voice was low unsure if he was saying the right thing.

Olivia smiled at the compliment, hoping the blush she applied would hide her natural one. "You clean up nicely."

As they took a quick second to converse with one another taking a minute to look at the board that displayed all the movies and their scheduled times they had decided on a comedy movie that had released the previous week.

"Would you like some popcorn?" Tommy asked getting in the short line looking at the menu that hungover the the display of snacks.

Olivia only shook her head a simple no, "Too expensive for me." she could only laugh as she looked at the prices knowing her paycheck had no room for movie theater treats.

"Im buying, so please get what you would like." Tommy offered as he looked to her, she was clearly eyeing the slushy machine.

"no no no, you already bought me my ticket absolutely not." She had declined his offer, for a second he opened his mouth but his eyes had the hint of not taking this no for an answer.

As they advanced in line continuing their conversation, Tommy continued to notice that girl's eye continued to look at the slushy machine. When it was finally their turn he was going to give her the damn slushy.

"Hi, a large popcorn please and 2 large slushies please!" his smile was bright as he looked through his wallet for his card.

"You know you can refill your cup right?" Olivia giggled thinking the 2 slushy cups were for him.

"Yeah, but I got 1 for me and 1 for you." Tommy replied tapping his card on the machine as the cashier typed in their total.

"Tommy. I told you no." Her face fell into a pout, here he was spending money on her and she absolutely hated it. 

"You were staring at the machine, plus I promise you I can handle spending like this." He tried defending his actions as they moved out of the line. She held onto the 2 cups while he held onto the popcorn ensuring he didn't spell any.

Olivia led them to their machines and she had poured herself the strawberry flavor that was titled Sweet Strawberry. The red delectable just looked so good and Olivia was ready to dig in as soon as possible.

"Can I get the blue one?" Tommy tried pointing but the popcorn bag was clearly made out of light material and would probably drop half the popcorn if he tried moving one of his hand.

"Trying to make our tongues purple Edman?" Olivia teased, it was meant to be a completely funny joke considering this is something many people would joke about but for Edman he wanted it to be serious.

His face was pink and he tried using the popcorn bag to hide his face, "Uh, uhm no I just like blueberry that's all." 

"It was only me joking Tommy. Plus why are you getting shy weren't you the one who wanted me to give you a massage?" Olivia's eye furrowed questioning the crimson cheeked man.

"Look I was being dumb." His face turning a more crimson out of embarrassment. 

"Hmm suree that request sounded like you meant it." The girl said grabbing the straws and motioned for Tommy to bring the popcorn towards the butter dispenser. "But don't worry I will stop teasing...for now."

Tommy's adam apple only bobbed in his throat not knowing what Olivia meant, "Let's go before we are late!" he was quick to try and change the discussion.

"Whyy the movie doesn't start for another 5 minutes" Olivia had placed down the drinks onto the counter and doing air quotes, "We still have like 15 minutes because of the movie previews."

"Yeah but I like watching those." he shrugged walking towards the door that he was told to walk through earlier to catch their screening.

"Fineee." Olivia walked quickly behind him catching up to the shortstop.

This was the first date for them and many would say a movie was not the best idea but for them this felt right and that's all Olivia needed.
