THE BRIGHT SUN peered through the curtains of Tommy's bedroom. His body felt cold and hot all at the same time, it felt like an eternal struggle of temperature. His body feeling as if all the energy had been zapped out of him.
The sound of coughing could be heard over and over from the quiet morning. His face was pale, his throat felt as if someone had scratched it with something beyond sharp he had felt as if he was going to just die right on his bed.
He tried to reach for his phone that laid just to the right of him right on top of his nightstand. He quickly looked for Olivia's contact, his hand debating between sending a message or just calling her. He knew the girl was probably busy getting the necessary items for the kids done, but he just wanted to hear her voice again.
Temptation won in his mind.
The phone rung a few before a voice picked up on the other end.
"Hello" Olivia's voice answered.
"Hi uhm, I know we have our date later, but I am not feeling good." Tommy's voice as strained as strained can be, talking was clearly painful for the short stop.
"Are you sick?" Olivia had adjusted the phone, using her shoulders to hold up the phone, "Do you need me to come over later?"
Olivia coming over later? Now that's something he couldn't resist.
Tommy, however in a moment of trying to speak accidently gulped and the pain he felt made him move in discomfort, "Uhm if you want. We can keep it simple watch a movie? Order takeout."
"Okayy, I'll see when I can be there." Olivia responded, even though they had planned going out staying in with Tommy felt just as perfect.

Olivia sat in the teacher's lounge, her plastic forked picked right at the croutons of her already soggy salad.
"Why did I put the dressing early." she mumbled to herself, her fork continuing to dig around as she tried to not act disgusted.
As she sat there, a familiar voice called out from behind her. "What's wrong Livie," It was her closest friend, Amaya, and it seemed like she could sense something was troubling Olivia.
Olivia had turned and smiled at her friend, her eyes following Amaya up until Amaya sat right in front of Olivia. "Nothing too big, just Tommy called me earlier and he's sick."
