MAJOR TIME JUMP

IT WAS CLOSE to the couple's 1st year and 6 months anniversary, the seasons had come and gone and Olivia had found her rhythm when it came to being a teacher, by the school's terms she was still a rookie, but she felt like a pro.

However being a teacher to her was so much more then being the teacher, she was a safe space for the kids, she could tell you almost every single thing she remembered about the little ones with a bright smile right on her face.

So try and imagine her face, when Tommy sat her down and asked her something that made her want to slap the living daylights out of him for.

"Absolutely not." Olivia looked at the short stop, a bitter sweet laugh releasing from her mouth, her arms crossing over as she leaned back away from Tommy.

"I just don't get it, you say every single time that I leave." stopping to quickly clear his throat, "I wish I could go with you." his tone dropping as he tried his best to mock her tone.

Olivia shifted off the sofa, her hand reaching for her half empty water bottle, "Yeah, but guess what Tommy at end of the week I get to see you." her voice raised, her hand clapped as she finished her sentence, "SO for YOU to say I should QUIT my dream job is absolutely crazy.

Tommy had also reciprocated getting up from the sofa as he moved opposite side of Olivia, the only thing between them was the coffee table physically, but the tension of the room kept them far apart.

"I have the money to keep us stable, I can offer you WHATEVER you need." The shortstop argued, "How do you think it makes me feel to see Brianna at the games supporting Lux, to see Cara, Chelsea and everyone else going to games to support their boyfriends and husband." his arms stretched out, trying his best to empathize his point, "It hurts to see them all there and not to see you. I hate being on the phone every single away game, I hate how that's the only way I can see you."

Olivia's face softened, "I understand that, but you know how much I care for those kids, you don't get to decide whether, I leave that job EVER. You may be my boyfriend and hopefully one day my husband, but you do not get to make that decision for me." Her eyes starting to slightly gloss up, tears were threatening to fall. Little snuffles from her nose can be slightly heard as she looked up to the ceiling slowly waving her fingers right into her eyes.

"Just think about it Olivia." Tommy begged, his voice lowering, he hated seeing Olivia so emotional over something that should of been easy in his personal opinion.

Olivia shook her head, "You know I won't even think about it."

"Why can't you." Tommy sighed, his hands falling right towards his side.

Olivia's sigh came out harder, more sharper, with a cutting edge, somehow felt as if it could cut all the tension in the room, only if it was that easy. "Cause Tommy my answer is no. If you cannot understand that then maybe it's best you find someone who could just drop everything for you."

"So that's it. We should throw everything away because we cannot come to a simple agreement." Tommy snapping, his arms crossing as he got ready to just walk away, exactly how Olivia clearly had wanted.

Olivia's eyes rolled, taking a sip of her water bottle, "Don't say we cause this isn't a we thing. You are the one who cannot come to an agreement with me Tommy."

"You know what...maybe we need a break cause all we are doing is yelling at each other, and it's not helping either of us. I just can't do this tonight." Tommy muttered, his voice extremely low, as if he didn't want to even say what he was thinking, but his lips were moving faster then what his mind could think.

He was scared, talking would lead to something much more, something that would lead to them doing something reckless, to something that would leave them both heartbroken and making stupid decisions.

"If that's what you want fine." She immediately started walking quickly towards the bedroom, looking through her closet and looked for the first bag that could fit some clothes she didn't know how much she should take but she just grabbed and grabbed clothes, not carrying that Tommy isn't standing right behind her.

"It's not what I want Olivia, we clearly need a break. I want us to be better, be there for each other, but if we continue this argument then it just won't happen." Tommy replied, he stayed right by the doorway. His heart slowly breaking seeing the girl of his dreams reach and reach for clothing as she got ready to leave. "Please take care Olivia."

Something in Tommy told him that he needed to stop Olivia, stop her before she could leave, stop her before she even got the chance to exit the bedroom door, to just stop her and apologize to her till the sun rose once again, but he knew that right now time is what they needed.

Her bag filled to the brim, as many things poked from the sides obvious she had picked a smaller bag then what she needed. "I'll be at Brianna's..." her gaze quick as she started walking out, only stopping for two things, her keys and of course to quickly say goodbye to her fur baby. "I'll be back soon Eevee. Take care of Tommy for me."

That was it...she was out the door and making her way to the car, and for the first time in a long time, Tommy's eyes were spilling tears at a pace he couldn't keep count on. His hands quickly became wet, his face uncomfortable as the water rolled down. His nose starting to sniffle as he looked down at his phone screen, a painful reminder of what he possibly lost that night...
