TOMMY HAD PULLED out the chilled glasses of red whine from the freezer, before plopping them down into a small bucket he had filled with ice. He had made sure he grabbed the kind of whine that Olivia heavily loved. Their one year anniversary was the following day, but of course baseball had found a way to keep them apart once again.

He did his best to follow his mother's recipe for the pasta dish he was cooking; he may not be a skilled chef, but he figured pasta was simple enough. If you couldn't manage to cook pasta correctly, then you were clearly the problem.

He dipped his freshly washed finger into the saucepan and tasted the homemade sauce. The shortstop wanted everything to be perfect for her, and he was willing to remake the sauce as many times as necessary.

"That's good...I think?" The impromptu chef muttered to himself, his eyes every couple of seconds flickering towards the phone that laid on the countertop adjacent to the stove.

He was waiting for Olivia to message him that she was at his front door. Olivia had tried to convince Tommy to let her cook, but Tommy felt bad. She would normally always cook for them both and he wanted to prove she was dating a well rounded person.

Tommy wanted to make their one-year anniversary date more special by cooking a homemade meal. But he didn't stop there; he also had a surprise gift and a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting for her.

It didn't take long before a knock on the door forced Tommy to stop his speaker, he quickly washed off his hands before making his way towards the door.

Once he opened the door, for a second he thought an angel stood in front of him and it was close enough to being one.

Olivia's blouse was a creamy white, decorated with delicate lacing and the fabric was the silky kind. It hugged her figure and fell in gentle folds just right at her hips. Her light wash blue jeans were hugging her in all the right places and for Tommy it was hard to keep his eyes off of her.

"You look angelic princess." Tommy informed Olivia, his eyes traveling all across her body.

Olivia only grinned as she did a quick 360 for Tommy, "Thank you Brianna helped me pick this outfit out."

Tommy had fully opened the door allowing Olivia to walk inside and she immediately started making her way towards the kitchen.

Her hands clapped as she looked at the pans and such in front of her, "Okay what can I do to help?" she asked hovering over the pans the fire was barely on.

Tommy only laughed sliding a chair out, "Nothing the food is practically done. Plus I told you I got thisss." he responded gesturing for Olivia to take a seat.
