Omri Oliah•
"O"

I hold her in my arms as she sleeps peacefully, it was as if she knew she was in the arms of her pops. Completely relaxed, not crying, and barely opening her eyes. "You the calmest baby in the world," I speak softly to her as I gently run my fingertips over her hair. "You must get that shi- stuff from your mama. You gone see your daddy not calm at all." I joke. My eyes rising to Keshay who sleeps peacefully also. Her resting face similar to our baby girls.

"Kiora," I call out feeling her tiny hand tighten around my thumb. "I know, I know you want your mama. She's going to wake up soon. She's so excited to meet you." I smile at the outfit Miro brought in for her. A baby pink onsie with a hat that lets some hairs peek out. Within days she'd gotten better, eventually being able to breathe on her on and after that being let out of NICU. But while she's gotten better Keshay has stayed the same, thankfully her health is okay but she's still in a coma and they can't give me an exact time she'll wake up.

It was as if she knew I'd lose it without her here so she made sure to deliver our baby to me, because in this moment the only light in this darkness is Kiora.

Looking at my baby girl I knew what to name her, and as foul as someone else might think it is to name your child after the one you'd killed part of me felt like I owe Kiora everything, I owe that little girl I'd killed my life. For the simple fact that my daughter is here while she isn't. It'd crossed my mind before that God would make me feel the hurt of losing my child so I know the pain of whoever was the parent of the child I'd taken from them.

Being held in my arms is another chance, a chance to do better, to be better. In my messed up mind I figured if I do right by my child and be the best father I can that is how I can honor her. That's how I can honor the child that's gone.

"We're back. Let me see my niece." My brothers voice consumes the room. He makes sure to stop by Keshay's bed and lean down and give her what would be a hug if she'd hug back before making his way over to me. With open arms.

He sees the way my face turns up and nods his head knowingly before heading in the direction of the sink to wash his hands. And KC follows behind him and does the same.

I patiently wait for them to be done and when they are KC let's Miro take the only other seat knowing he's going to be the first to hold her. "Fatherhood hits different huh?" He questions with a smile.

I nod my head. "Man," I say in awe while looking down at Kiora as I pass her gently into to brothers arms. "I just never thought...that you know I'd be a dad."

"Shit-"

"Language." I scold my brother.

He smacks his lips but corrects himself. "I was just gone say I never thought you could make something so beautiful. You know you a grimlin and what not." He jokes causing us all to laugh. "She must get her looks from her mommy."

"Yeah," I look up at Keshay from my seat. "She does." I agree.

KC's eyes follow mine and I can see the sympathy written on his face. "She reminds me of your mother."

"What?" I let out a laugh almost as if I can't believe it though the laugh isn't genuine it's more so because he caught me off guard.

He raises his hands up in defense. "Osia was...and has been completely different than any woman in this family same as Keshay. I mean I love Nessa to death but let's face it the women Oliah's ain't much different than the men. But Keshay? She's different, she's a head on her shoulders and a legitimate career. And you may not see it now but as Kiora gets older that'll be important, to see her mommy being more than just some criminal."
