Wu slowly walked along the grand walkway suspended in the air, his footfalls steady on the mossy, eroded stone. The sigh of the necropolis before him seemed to bring his mind into a calm dread. Is this what would greet him when he returned to earth? Would there even be a planet left to visit? Not to mention how familiar this place was. Nothing made sense. Why did this place look so familiar? Why did this world hold so many things that seemed familiar to him?

"Hey, Venti..." Wu murmured.

"Yes?"

"...Have you ever had incredibly vivid memories of a place you've never seen, and a person you've barely met twice?" Wu asked.

"Sounds like deja vu." Venti said.

...

...

...

"Oh yeah, huh..." Wu murmured. "Must be that."

They arrived at the grand tower of Stormterror's lair. The only issue was that the massive ruin was fortified by forcefields of churning wind, held up by three glyphs placed along the height of the tower.

The heroes advanced, riding wind currents and overcoming monsters and obstacles, climbing the tower to the heavens, where they would do battle with the great dragon at its pinnacle. And at the end of their arduous climb...

"Shoot! We can't advance any further. The ruins seem to be guarded by anchient seals..." Venti said.

"Was it Dvalin's doing?" Paimon asked.

"No, it must be the remnants of the system imparted within the city. While the people are long gone, the technology remains. Dvalin simply nests here." Venti explained. "This city even predates the four winds. While Mondstadt is a city without a ruler, centuries ago, it was ruled over by a cruel tyrant." Venti explained. "...Any who, I'll sing you the tale another time. Right now, we've our own grand tale to weave!" Venti said.

"Based on my limited archeological knowledge, and my observation of the seals, this appears to be an ancient light actuator." Diluc explained. "If we retrieve and reintegrate all the parts, we should be able to get it working." He said.

"You're telling me we have to climb back down the tower and back up?" Wu asked annoyedly.

"You aren't moving a muscle. We can't afford you getting impatient and screwing things up again." Diluc said.

"Fair enough..." Wu let out a hissing chuckle, sitting down.

----------

Wu sat on the floor of the uppermost level of the tower as Venti tinkered with the spell keeping the light actuator engaged.

"I've been writing drafts for the song I'll sing of our travels together." Venti said. "You and I, and the other heroes. Jean will be the sword of justice. Diluc, the flame of retribution. Aether will be the heart of valor. Paimon, the light of morale. And yours truly will be the wings of freedom!" Venti said. "That being said, I must admit I'm a bit stumped with how I'll write you into my tale. Don't get me wrong, the redemption arc is a spicy part of every tale, but it's hard to give you a moniker that isn't ultra-violent!" Venti chuckled. "So, my friend. How would you define yourself in the context of this story?" Venti asked.

...

"Pride."

Wu said.

"Pride?" Venti asked.

"Pride in what I am. What I was. And what I want to be." Wu explained. "My pride is what's driven me all my life. A desire to rise to be a hero. To be legendary." Wu said. "Of course, it's also the root of all my issues. My insecurities, my rage, my failures... real or imagined." Wu said. "But it is also the root of my redemption. A desire to rise above what you or others thought I was. Of what I thought I was becoming. To be something more..." Wu said.
