The soft crash of calm waves against Mondstadt's beaches filled the air, slowly met by the calls of gulls as they started to circle above what appeared to be an exotic meal as it drifted to shore.

"Bastards...!" Son Wu spat a mix of bloody saliva and seawater, suddenly sitting up in the knee-deep water of the beach. The hungry gulls seemed to caw angrily, realizing that this ape was very much alive.

Wu crawled onto the wet sand, half of the upper portion of his Gi torn apart, leaving his flesh raw and scratched up. He placed a hand against his chest, only to wince. It'd be one hell of a bruise sooner enough. He scrabbled up the beach, scrabbling and stumbling.

----------

He trudged through the woods, clutching his wounds and hissing. His skin, raw and ragged, had started to bleed, more than he thought it would. Not to mention how badly it hurt. He was almost proud that his own blast did this much damage when thrown back in his face.

...

His blast.

God, what had he done...!?

In his rage, he fired on his "allies". Maybe, just maybe, Venti deserved to take that blast. But everyone else? If Aether hadn't risen against him, he'd have killed innocent people in a rage.

Is that how far you've fallen?

Wu staggered into a tree, leaning against it as his breaths grew more labored.

What were his options now? Go back to Mondstadt and apologize for almost killing his allies? Try and find Lumine?

Wu slowly ascended the land, trying to go farther inland.

The more he walked, the heavier his limbs grew. The bloodier he became. The slower he got.

Wu stumbled onto a rock outcrop, falling onto his knees.

Why? Why was this happening!? How did he even end up here!? In this world!?

"Ghhh...!" Wu hissed, shivering. The sun had long set. He scrunched his eyes closed, turning his head to the sky.

"WHY!?!?!?" Wu roared, his drained ki sparking for a single moment, flickering with his rage. "WHY AM I HERE, VEGETA!?!?!?" Wu cried out to the god that had forsaken him for answers.

Tears stung at the corners of his already blurred, fatigued vision. This had to be a terrible delusion as he was being reduced to ash in Vegeta's ki ball. Yes, all he had to do was wake up and die like the miserable fool he was...

Wu slowly opened his eyes, tears now freely flowing.

He was met with the full moon.

Ghrk!

Wu's entire body tensed, his eyes widening as they caught that full, pure light.

...

...

...

...

...

...

"Hm." Wu said. "That is... odd..." He said tiredly, his tail slowly swaying back and forth. "Normally that'd do the thing..." He said, looking at his tail. Why didn't he...?

"How low you have fallen, my lord..."

Wu's eyes widened as he heard an ethereal, otherworldly tearing sound. He turned on a dime, suddenly rising and taking a trembling fighting stance, one of his arms hanging limp, too weak to move. What he saw looked like a portion of the night sky had been dropped in front of him. Glowing with a sick, purple shimmer, small flecks of light that mimicked starlight adorned the black tear in reality, all surrounding a central, bright purple ring. Spikes of light jutted from the ring, making it appear to be a deformed cross.
