Aether spent the week gathering strength, running errands for his friends, and doing commissions for the Adventurer's Guild. He was slowly beginning to get used to the solidarity of Mondstadt's life, finding his role as a foreign helper quite therapeutic for his agitated soul. He was sure that if Lumine had been in this scenario, she'd do the same.
In a brief moment of respite, Aether allowed himself to rest, lying back on a lush hill on the lakeside as the breeze ruffled his hair. Paimon floated next to him with her back a few inches off the ground, munching on a chicken mushroom skewer.
Boom!
Aether grunted, before lifting his head to a beach nearby, seeing Wu pointing an open palm at a shattered rock as Bennet gazed on.
----------
"Whoa...!" Bennet gasped, having seen Wu just annihilate a boulder with a small ki blast.
"Ki control has many applications that one would consider "unnatural"." Wu explained. "But like the powers granted by a vision, one could appear to defy logic with what they could do." He said. "Ki blasts are one such application. By concentrating and controlling one's lifeforce to an extreme degree, one could produce attacks comprised entirely from said energy." Wu said.
"I see! Like how I can generate fire with my vision!" Bennet chirped.
"Kind of... Honestly, you shouldn't over-rely on that thing." Wu said, and Bennet paused.
"Why not? It's my source of strength!" Bennet smiled.
"You are your source of strength. That there is a hand-out. From what I've seen, all visions do is act as a catalyst through which to channel one's ki." Wu observed. "It's a crutch." Wu said. "If you're a weakling without it, then that has to change. Find a way to garner strength through your own means." Wu said.
"I... I see.." Bennet murmured. "Whelp, alright then!" Bennet turned to the lake surrounding Mondstadt, clutching his vision and winding his arm back to throw.
"Wait, idiot!" In a flash, Wu gripped Bennet's wrist. "I didn't say to get rid of it outright!" Wu said.
"Wha? I...Sorry..." Bennet murmured.
"You're too friggin' loyal, man..." Wu sighed, lowering Bennet's hand. "What I mean is that this should be just a part of your arsenal. It should be a part of your strength, not your strength itself." Wu said. "You accept paths to power, but you do not take shortcuts." Wu said. "No good can come from meeting every challenge with one thing..." Wu said.
BOOM!!!
Wu and Bennet flinched as a red bundle of wool and cotton landed on the beach near them.
"Klee heard someone using bombs!" Klee chirped, hopping up from the dirt.
"How the hell did you get out this time...?" Wu grunted, turning to the rascal.
"Klee kept some of her active ingredients hidden in her cheeks like a chipmunk!" Klee said cheerfully. "Where are the bombs? Klee would like to study such a big boom!" Klee said.
"No bombs to be seen." Wu said.
"Liar liar, pants on fire, Mr. Gibbon! Klee knows you have bombs capable of making the giant broccoli tree go kabloey!" Klee said, pointing an accusatory finger at the part-Saiyan.
"..." Wu stared at her, before pointing another open palm at a rock.
BWOOM!!!
Wu sent a huge blast against it, completely reducing it to fine gravel in a single second.
