Robert took his phone out without looking away from Miss. Brown. He was convinced she was the same Miss. Brown, his wife had paid half a million dollars. She was wearing Valeire's necklace. It could mean she was her friend. If it were stolen, Miss. Brown wouldn't wear it to an event where Valerie could see it.

As far as Robert knew, Leo had always dated rich women. But looking at where Sarah was living, it wasn't the case. Then, why was Leo dating a poor woman? And why would his wife pay half a million to her?

"Mr. Williamson,"
"I want to know about someone named Sarah Brown."

"Send me what you know," The voice replied,

"I have her bank details. Her picture and where she lives. The rest I would like to know."

"It is more than enough." The man replied, but there was an element of impatience when Robert said.

"I want a live report. Keep digging and keep sharing. Also, one more thing. She is dating Leo."

"Leonardo? Your..."

"Yes, the same." Robert leaned into his chair and groaned.

There was a time when Robert had warned Leonardo to stay away from Valerie. But now it seems he didn't fully stick to the plan.

Robert asked his assistant, who was sitting ahead, to retrieve a picture of Mrs. Brown from tonight's event and asked him to contact his accountant to get her account information and send it to his personal detective, Jacob.

It was after an hour that Robert came out of his shower, and his phone chimed.

It had a few pictures of Sarah. One picture had her in the waitressing uniform. She was standing with other staff in a picture that Jacob must have gotten from the restaurant's website. She was smiling while holding a tea, and Robert couldn't help but recall that he had visited this place, and indeed, Sarah was the one waitressing for them. He had noticed how she had looked at him.

Valerie could never be friends with a waitress. He knew a lot about his wife. She often gives away her jewelry to her friends, but gifting it to Sarah or giving her half a million didn't make sense.

Robert called for Valerie's number, but only her assistant picked up. "She is staying at her friend's place, Joana. This is the last time I heard from her. She said she will arrive at the hotel late tonight."

Robert wonders how long Valerie will stay at a hotel. He too believed that he didn't give her much time. Perhaps arranging a week-long trip could cheer up Valerie. But he had to do a lot to plan it.

Robert turned off the lights and closed his eyes. But a few kilometers away from him, Sarah was standing outside Valerie's room. She was about to knock it when the door opened, and Valerie was quick to slap her. The sound of the slap echoed on the whole floor. Sarah felt as if a heavy object had landed against the side of her face, but it was just Valerie's hand. Valerie was in her red nightgown, which was showing her cleavage. But then Valerie pulled on her hair and dragged her inside. "What did you tell Robert? What did you tell him? What do you think you are doing?"

Sarah couldn't hold herself together much and didn't get any time to process any of it. "I didn't."

"How dare you get into his car?" Valerie asked again, and Sarah didn't know what to say.

"It was raining. I didn't tell him anything. Valerie, you can't do this to me. You are..."

"Woah, woah, woah, woah..." Sarah widened her eyes and looked at her back to find Leo. Her soul left her body. She couldn't move. Everything Leo did to her was still afresh in her mind. "..and, you think you can do anything. Are you getting some ideas in your mind, Sarah? Do you really think you stand a chance to go against me or Valerie. If you want, you can try..." Leo's eyes were full of lust as he walked around her before standing behind Valerie.
