We were well into a freezing January. Lacrosse season was going to start in a week, and Jason was absolutely losing his mind. It didn't help that Coach Wilkins suddenly decided to go all Hitler on us either.
"Move, move, move!" He yelled, continuing to scream at us as we ran across the field. "What the hell are you doing Evans? MOVE YOUR ASS!"
I almost would have laughed at the way Jeremiah started, if I hadn't been so exhausted myself. My extremities had gone numb from the cold, as I sat on the bench until Coach called me to play again.
After another hour of borderline physical abuse, he finally let us go. I immediately rushed to the locker room, letting out a sigh of relief as I finally took off my uniform and protective padding. God, that was a nightmare.
I took a quick shower, changed into my regular clothes, and started to pack my bag. Jeremiah walked out of the shower two minutes later; a towel hanging dangerously low on his waist, with beads of water still shimmering on his skin, and his hair dripping wet. Holy fucking hell.
It took all of my willpower not to stare at him. We have only been in the locker room together a few times before, mostly because I take a shower in my room after practice. However, I have never seen him half naked like this.
Even after his face being pretty hot, nothing could have prepared me for his body. Bloody hell, those abs and the crazy back muscles-
I forced myself back into reality. Luke, this is definitely not the place to have such thoughts. Sheesh.
"Hey Evans, I heard you hooked up with Ashley Brown on new years? What's up with that?" One of the guys on the team asked.
I grit my teeth; my mood instantly shifting. How do people come up with this shit?
Jeremiah simply shrugged it off. "Nah. That's just a rumour. Nothing like that happened." He spoke casually.
Daniel chuckled. "Yeah, this school tends to be like that."
I quickly finished packing and walked out, putting on my headphones as I went back to my room. I did not want to hear any more of that conversation.
Spencer wasn't there when I reached; he was probably out working on his Legal class' group project.
I sat down at my desk, taking out my chemistry books to study. I could not afford to do as badly as I did last semester this time.
I'd only been studying for around half an hour, when Spencer walked in, in a huge huff. He plopped down on his bed, groaning at the ceiling.
"What's up?" I asked him, without turning my head.
"Violet." He replied, dejectedly. I swivelled around in my chair. "Damn. She rejected you for the millionth time, huh?"
He sighed. "Well, if by rejected, you mean made out with me, then yes." He smirked towards the end.
"WHAT? Lies."
He pulled down his sweatshirt collar, to reveal newly formed hickeys on his neck. "I kid you not, Hawthorne."
I gaped at him. "That, is absolutely insane."
He jumped up, still grinning from ear to ear. "Ha! I'm so happy, I could cry right now."
"For both of our sakes, please don't."
The rest of the evening was spent with the two of us pretty much bullying each other. After that, we went for dinner and went to bed. Luckily for me, I got good dreams that night.
