(4 Days Later)
Monday [7:21 am]

Things had started to go back to normal. My parents hadn't stopped to secretly check on me during the night to ensure that I was still in fact there.

I hadn't seen them do that since the incident that put me in this mess. They'd come in to watch me sleep, thinking that I was asleep anyway. Not that I got a lot of it anyway. But they would stand or sit there in silence, for hours before leaving to go back to their room.

My alarm blared throughout my room, effectively waking me up. I shut it off and threw my sheets off me. I got ready, having already taken a shower the night before, I just put on a fresh pair of clothes and brush my teeth.

My mom had braided my hair into multiple parts, the ends reaching just above my chest. I decided to wear the new clothes my mom had bought, I'm guessing she had started to realize I'd grown out my old ones. It was a black graphic long sleeve and some dark blue semi-fitted jeans.

I put on my air forces and walked out my room, my bag looped on my left shoulder. Walking down the steps, I hear soft chatter coming from the dining area. "Morning.." I muttered, taking a seat beside Jordan. I pulled one of the many plates toward me and dug in.

"Good morning baby." Ma smiled, coming around the table to kiss my forehead. Dad was in his own chair, Mateo on his left and ma's empty seat on his right.

Mia sat on the other end of the table, phone in one hand and a fork in the other. She laughed at something that was on it before putting down her fork and typing something in response. Probably that douche Rick. I grumbled as I roughly stabbed my fork into my pancake. "You ok there cam..?" My dad asked slowly, an amused look on his face.

   "Just. Fine." I grit out.

He just shook his head with a smile, biting into his own pancakes. "So umm, are you driving me today?" I asked, clearing my throat as I tried to rid my thoughts of my sister's questionable taste in men. "Oh. Well uh..." he turned to ma, who had already been staring at him.

"Can we trust that you'll go straight to school?" Ma asked, her tone genuine without a sense of doubt or anger. I nodded firmly, "yes ma'am."

They continued to share looks between one another when dad finally looked back down at his plate. "Ok then. You can walk if you'd like, or you can text TC." He said. I smiled and nodded, directing my attention back onto my food.

I walked along the sidewalk, rolling my eyes at the bickering from behind me. "Would you two cut it out!" I exclaimed, effectively shutting the two up, which put a smile on my face. Though it only lasted a second before the bickering started again. I groaned and tried speeding up, taking bigger strides along the pavement.

I'm guessing this grabbed their attention when rushed footsteps head my way. "Slow down Cameron!" Mateo shouted, his hand clamping onto my forearm. He heaved as I just stood there, his body keeled over as he tried to catch his breath.

Jordan was no better only she was better at hiding it. You could clearly see her chest rapidly falling and dropping and the rugged breathing coming from her nose. "Then stop arguing. It's incredibly frustrating." I rolled my eyes, turning to continue my walk. "Sheesh, what pissed in her cereal." Jordan muttered. "She didn't have cereal for breakfast, dummy." Mateo sighed.
