Morning
I was awake long before the sun rose over the horizon. I was in the bathroom, looking over my new marking reaching just below my collar bone. It hadn't stopped pulsing but the glowing had finally calmed down.
I wasn't entirely sure what they meant but I'm positive it had something to do with my pack. I hovered my hand over the edges of the mark, gasping when a small spark shocked down my spine. And just like that, they glowed with ferocity. Like a chain reaction my eyes followed suit and began glowing their unique shade of purple.
I shook my head. I stared back at myself and sighed at the loss of the glow. 'You're really reaching new heights.' Meo voiced, momentarily shocking me. 'Why are you even awake?' I grumbled as I took a step back from the mirror.
'I always get an early morning workout in.' He replied. 'Question is; what are you doing up?' He rebutted. I shrugged, forgetting he couldn't see me. 'I don't know..' is all could say as I moved away from the mirror and sat at the edge of the tub.
I inhaled sharply, groaning into my hands at the new responsibility added onto the long list of secrets and problems I already have to deal with. 'This is great though Cam. With a pack comes strength.' Meo tried reassuring me but my mind was already made up.
'But this isn't our territory Meo. It belongs to the Willows pack.' I reminded the man. 'Then request permission from the alpha.' He spoke as if it the task were as easy as saying it.
'Yeah. Great idea Meo. I'll just waltz into the pack, the same pack that would see me dead if certain laws didn't allow it. I'll go talk to the alpha, you know, the mother to the girl whose heart I broke because of my own ignorance and selfishness.' I scoffed.
'Right..oh! I got it.'
'Please, tell me this oh so great plan of yours.' I rolled my eyes. 'Take Iris. If she's there, she can stop her family from murdering you.' He suggested. I ran my hand through my hair and released a small puff of air. "Cammy..?" Iris's voice enter my ears.
Opening the bathroom door, I see Iris turned over on her stomach with her hand rubbing over the empty space beside her. I smiled at the girl before quietly making my way over. I slid back into my spot, throwing the sheets over my body as Iris snuggled right back into my side. Her hand reached over my waist as she rested her head on my chest.
"What's wrong?" She asked, eyes still closed as she slipped her hand beneath my shirt. The tips of her fingers drew circles across my abdomen, sending a new sensation through my body.
"Nothing." I said, my own arm looping around her waist. "Cameron." Her stern voice brought my eyes down to meet her own. "Ooh, first name." I grumbled. "I'm serious." She rolled her eyes. "Nothings wrong Iris." I shrugged the girl off when she tightened her grip on my shirt. "Don't play with me Cameron." She warned, now sitting up as she glared down at me.
