Monday [7:50 am]
Monday came rather quickly, building a sense of excitement in my gut. I hadn't seen Iris since Saturday and my beasts haven't stopped clawing at my chest, growling in my head over and over to go to her.
But Iris texted me and warned me to steer clear of the pack house for the time being. I wasn't 100 percent sure what the reason behind it was, but I had a bit of an inkling it had something to do with her family. More specifically her mother's.
I couldn't give a shit as to what her brothers' think, but her parents on the other hand..they terrified me to no end.
'Just be grateful you weren't here the other day. Whoo! You would've been laid out like a bitch!' Meo hollered through my mind, his loud cackles sending an uncomfortable vibration across my skull. 'Just shut up asshole!' I groaned.
His laughs cooled into small chuckles when he sighed. 'But I am glad to see that you've come to your senses.' He said. Sensing the smile on his face I replied, 'you were right. I was being a selfish dickhead and I needed a serious reality check.'
'Oh, I'm sorry. Could you repeat that because I could've sworn you just said that I was right!?' He exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and chuckled.
'Whatever.'
I finished getting dressed and grabbed my backpack and laptop from off my desk. Making sure I had my phone and my wallet, I left my room and headed downstairs. I spotted Jordan and Mateo sat at the table while Mom stood in front of the stove, scrambling eggs while dad placed a cup of orange juice beside his and Mom's plate.
"Morning." I greeted, setting my bag down by my feet. I sat down and looked around, frowning when I noticed the lack of a certain presence. "Where's Mia?" I asked. Mateo said nothing and gestured to the window behind the stove.
Maneuvering my head in said direction, I noticed the older girl pacing back and forth with her phone pressed against her ear. She seemed to be in sole one of heated argument with someone on the other end. If I had to guess, I would say it's that douche Rick. I growled at the thought of the man-child.
'Your sister having boyfriend problems, huh?' Meo asked. 'Seems that way, not that I care.' I shrugged. He hums, going quiet for a minute before voicing himself once more. 'How bad would you say the problem is?' He asked, earning a frown from yours truly.
'Like 'break-up' bad or 'I need some space' bad?' He wondered. I dropped my fork, grabbing the attention of my family. "You alright there Cam?" I hear my dad ask. I tuned back in and turned to the man. I nodded and smiled, "yeah, just slippery fingers." I reassured.
He nodded, a bit confused but nonetheless unbothered. Everyone continued their eating, Ma placing the rest of the eggs on the plate sat in front of a vacant chair. Mia's chair.
'Meo..please, please, please don't tell me you have the hots for my sister.' I pleaded as I rubbed away the crease in my forehead. 'Of course not.' He denied enthusiastically. I sighed in relief, reaching for my cup of OJ to then take a sip.
'I'm obsessed with your sister.' He replied. Juice sprayed from my lips, splashing on the table and my plate. A bit of it dripped from my lips and ran down my chin. "Cameron!" Ma exclaimed, "you are too grown to be acting like this!" She said as she wiped the table down with one of the rags.
