The group of supernatural prisoners we rescued yesterday had yet to leave my mind. Even after getting home last night, I still couldn't help wondering if it was really ok to just leave them there.

I know Meo reassured me that they would be fine, that they could just hunt for food and sniff out a stream nearby, but it didn't necessarily ease my nerves. It was strange. I don't think I've ever felt this way about complete strangers before.

But Dato told me I was just worried for my fellow werewolves and to not worry too much about it.

"You're doing it again." A voice spoke from beside me. I turned to Iris, the girl sitting to my right in one of the cafeteria booths. "Doing what?" I played dumb, smirking at the small glare she sends my way. "Don't piss me off cammy." I groaned, earning a victorious smirk from my girlfriend.

"We don't hate each other anymore, you can stop calling me Cammy." I said, lacing my fingers through hers. "I don't know. I kinda like Cammy, it's cute."

"It's childish." I corrected. She only rolled her eyes and rested her head on my shoulder.

"They're fine." She said. I sighed. "I'm still checking on them after school." I said. "I'll come with you." She said. She turned to look up at me, her eyes boring into mine. I smiled and with a nod leant down to place my lips onto hers. But we were interrupted by a loud grunt. Looking to the cause of the sudden noise, I immediately roll my eyes.

"Keep your hands to yourself mutt." Donavan growled. "Don't you have a tree to piss on somewhere." I scoffed, my arm casually looping around Iris's waist. "Seriously Iris! What do you even see in this stray!" He exclaimed as he sat across from his sister.

"You started it Donny. And stop antagonizing him Cammy." I raised my hands in mock surrender before kissing her on the side of the head. "Just go back with Derek and Toledo, I'm good over here Donny." Iris said. She buried her side further into mine, eliciting a quiet rumble from my beasts.

Donavan hated the fact that his sister had bonded with a stray, but more than anything he hated that she'd bonded with a lycan. He wished that it had been a wolf from their pack, better yet, the same kind of wolf.

His hatred had only worsened the moment the lycan rejected iris, leaving his sister to a fate almost worse than death. The countless days she spent up in her room sad and alone, letting her heart break into a million pieces. She almost didn't pull through, that is until she snuck out into the night to go who knows where.

But looking at the two of them, he understood where she'd gone. He had done everything to try and get his sister to leave her room, to eat, to do literally anything other than cry. And the one time she does, it's for the stray in front of him, the very stray that broke her heart in the first place.

"I don't like you." He grit out. I stared at the boy and nodded. "I know." He shook his head and came around the booth before stopping in front of Iris, pressing his hands on the table before leaning forward.

"No, I don't think you do. I hate you. I will never accept you as my sister's chosen. You're not good enough for her and I'm not the only one who thinks so." He said, his harsh glare never wavering. "The day you rejected her—"
