As we arrived at the party, my eyes immediately landed on Jungkook standing across the room, a big smile plastered on his face. Millie straightened up beside me, her excitement evident, and walked over to him, throwing her arms around him in a tight hug.

“Happy birthday, Jeon!” she exclaimed cheerfully.

He laughed, hugging her back, before walking over to me with a small smile.

“Thanks for coming, Taehyung,” he said warmly.

I kept my expression stoic, unwilling to let any emotion slip. As they walked away, I felt a hand on my arm. Turning, I found Yoon-ah standing beside me, her overly bright smile nearly making me groan out loud.

“I’m so glad we could come to the party together,” she said, her voice sweet but grating.

I felt irritation surge within me as her fingers lightly grazed my arm. Shaking her off, I took a step back. “Yoon-ah, please stay away from me,” I said firmly, my tone low and sharp.

Her smile faltered for a second before she tilted her head, feigning innocence. “What’s wrong, Taehyung? Can’t I even stand next to you?”

“I don’t want anything to do with you,” I bit out. “So, please, just stay away from me.”

Her face twisted with barely hidden anger, but I didn’t care. Turning away, I walked off, feeling relief wash over me as the distance grew between us. I couldn’t deal with her suffocating presence anymore.

Yoon-ah

I watched Taehyung walk away from me without a second glance, anger bubbling under the surface. Enough was enough. His coldness and rejection had gone too far.

Scanning the room, my gaze locked onto Millie, standing with Jungkook and laughing like she owned the world. My lips curved into a smile as a plan began to form.

Striding toward her, I plastered a fake, bright smile on my face. I joined their conversation casually, exchanging pleasantries with Millie while my mind focused on my goal.

Then the moment came. I “accidentally” brushed against her, my fingers catching the delicate fabric of her dress just enough to pull a thread loose.

She didn’t notice, of course, but I knew what I had done. A single thread was all it took, and her dress would start unraveling soon enough. Smiling to myself, I stepped back, satisfied. This was just the beginning.

As I stood chatting with Uncle Suhyeok, my eyes wandered, searching for Millie. It wasn’t long before I spotted her in a group of friends, her laughter echoing in the room.

My gaze lingered, taking in the way her hair shone under the lights, the sparkle in her eyes. But then my eyes fell to her dress, and my heart skipped a beat.

The back of her dress was starting to tear, the fabric unraveling with every movement she made. My chest tightened in alarm. If she took one more step, the entire dress would rip, exposing her to everyone.

I didn’t hesitate. Excusing myself from Uncle Suhyeok, I strode across the room, my eyes fixed on her. My heart pounded as I fought to reach her before disaster struck.
