Millie

As I stood in the dressing room, adjusting the delicate lace veil draped over my head, my heart swelled with anticipation and joy. Today was the day—the day I had dreamed of since I was a little girl. The day I would finally marry Mingyu, the man I thought I would spend forever with.

The door creaked open, and Jungkook slipped in, his ever-playful smile softer than usual. “Hey,” he said, his voice gentle.

I turned to him, tears already pricking the corners of my eyes. Seeing him there, my rock through everything, made the moment feel more real.

“Hey, Jeon,” I whispered, using the nickname I’d given him years ago. He stopped in front of me, his dark eyes scanning my face, then trailing down to take in the white gown I wore. “You look stunning, Millie. Just like a princess.”

His voice cracked, and he quickly cleared his throat. His vulnerability made my own emotions threaten to spill over. I reached out, and he pulled me into a hug, the kind that felt like home.

“I’m so happy for you. Mingyu’s a lucky man,” he murmured into my hair.

As he held me close, memories of our childhood flashed through my mind. All those times he teased me, the late-night talks when I couldn’t sleep, and the way he had always been there, a constant in my life.

“Thank you, Jeon. You’ve always been there for me. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” He pulled back, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.

“You’ll never have to find out,” he said, his voice low but firm. “I’ll always be here, no matter what.” Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small, neatly wrapped box and handed it to me.

“A small gift from me to you—for your new journey.” Inside was a delicate silver necklace with a tiny locket. On its surface, our family’s initials were engraved in intricate detail.

“Jeon,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “I love you, headache,” he said with a small, teasing smile. “I love you too, Jeon,” I replied, throwing my arms around him once more.

As we pulled away, he wiped a stray tear from my cheek. “Don’t cry, okay? You’ll ruin all that effort you put into your makeup.”

I laughed, and the tension in the room eased slightly. He kissed the top of my head before slipping out, leaving me with a mix of emotions swirling in my chest. Moments later, Emi and Hannah burst into the room like a whirlwind, their energy bright and infectious.

“Oh, Millie, you look breathtaking!” Emi exclaimed, her hands clasped over her chest. “Absolutely stunning,” Hannah agreed, her smile radiant. “Mingyu won’t know what hit him.”

They pulled me into a tight hug, and I felt the weight of their love and support. “Today’s the day, Millie,” Emi said, her voice trembling with emotion. “You’re starting a whole new chapter, and we’re so proud of you.”

Hannah nodded, her voice softer but just as heartfelt. “We’re going to miss you, but we know Mingyu will make you happy.” Tears pricked at my eyes again, but I smiled through them.

“You guys are the best. Your approval means everything to me.” They both pulled me into another hug, their emotions mirroring my own.
