Taehyung
As we walked to the car, hand in hand, a wave of relief washed over me. She had agreed to give us another chance, and I couldn’t help but feel a flicker of hope for what lay ahead.
But beneath the happiness was the lingering guilt for what I had done. Forgiveness wasn’t easy, yet she chose to forgive me. Her heart was far too generous, far too kind for someone like me.
When we reached the car, she glanced at me, her voice soft but steady.
“Taehyung, I need to go back home to get my things,” she said. I pulled her close, wrapping her in a protective embrace.
“It’s okay,” I murmured. “I’ll bring them for you tomorrow. You don’t need to worry about it.”
She nodded, her warmth grounding me as if she’d already started healing my broken soul.
As we settled into the car, I felt a glimmer of anticipation—like we were turning the page to a new chapter, one where love and hope finally took center stage.
“I’m happy you forgave me,” I said, reaching over to take her hand in mine.
“It wasn’t easy,” she admitted, her voice tinged with honesty. “But I couldn’t bear to see you in pain. And… I understand now that you were forced into it because of misunderstandings.” Her words humbled me.
“Let’s forget it all,” I whispered, determination threading through my voice. “Let’s move forward.”
When we arrived home, Ava was on the couch, her face lighting up as soon as she saw Millie. She leapt up and rushed toward her, throwing her arms around her in a tight hug.
“Unnie, I missed you so much!” Ava exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion.
Millie hugged her back, tears glistening in her eyes.
“I missed you too, Ava,” she said softly. Pulling back, Ava’s expression shifted into one of concern.
“I was so worried about you, unnie,” she said, glancing at me briefly. “Taehyung told me everything… what happened, what he did. I’m just so glad you’re okay now. And I’m happy you both worked things out.”
Millie gave her a small smile. “Me too.”
Ava’s face brightened, and she clasped Millie’s hands. “I’m so happy for you two. You’re meant to be together—I just know it.”
Millie
As I stood in Ava’s embrace, a quiet sense of triumph flickered in my mind. A plan had been forming in my head for a while, and now, I knew it was time to set it in motion.
I smirked faintly, feeling a playful spark ignite within me. Taehyung’s gaze caught mine, his eyes flickering with curiosity and apprehension.
“It’s late,” he said cautiously. “Let’s go to bed.” I tilted my head, feigning innocence. “I’ll sleep with Ava for a few days.”
His face fell, disappointment clear in his expression. I knew what he wanted—he wanted to hold me, to keep me close, but I wasn’t about to make it that easy for him.
Walking over to him, I leaned in close and whispered, “This is your punishment, Taehyung. Consider it my revenge.”
His eyes widened in shock, a flicker of desire mixed with disbelief. Before he could respond, I gave him a playful wink and turned away, taking Ava’s hand.
“Let’s go, Ava. I’m exhausted.” As Ava and I settled into her room, I turned to her with a heavy heart.
“Ava,” I began softly, “I’m so sorry for everything. I didn’t even know you were in a coma, and I didn’t come to see you. I… I should’ve been there.”
Tears filled her eyes as she reached for my hand, squeezing it tightly.
“I know you didn’t mean to, unnie,” she said. “I’m just glad everything is okay now—between you and Taehyung, and even Taehyung and Jungkook. But I was terrified when I learned Taehyung misunderstood things… how he blamed you and Jungkook for my condition.”
Her voice broke, and I couldn’t hold back my own tears. Pulling her into a hug, I held her close.
“I’ll always be here for you, Ava,” I promised. “No matter what happens, I’ll protect you and take care of you. You’re like a sister to me.”
She hugged me back tightly, her tears soaking into my shoulder. “I’m just glad we’re together again, unnie. Like before.”
We spent the next hour catching up, sharing everything we’d missed during the time we were apart. Slowly, exhaustion began to creep in, and we snuggled under the blankets, side by side.
As Ava drifted off to sleep, her breathing soft and steady, I stared at the ceiling, my thoughts racing. Taehyung had broken my heart once, but he had also worked to piece it back together.
We had a long road ahead of us, but deep down, I knew we could make it. We were battered, bruised, and flawed, but we were still here—together. And that, I realized, was enough.
