(*Mariah's POV *)

"So junior prom is coming up!" Jade said happily as she passed me the flyer.

"Who are you taking?" I asked her.

"Probably my girlfriend." She said thoughtfully.

I smiled. "I want to meet her, if you really want to open up your relationship."

She smiled genuinely "I do, I don't want to hide anymore." She said smiling.

I threw my arms around her.

"This is why we're friends." I said laughing.

She laughed too.

"So who are you bringing?" She asked smirking.

I let my breath out "I think I'm gonna stag."

She laughed again.

"Should I tell them, or will you?" She said nodding passed me.

I turned around and saw Caleb, Tyler and Justin racing each other to get to me.

I got up from my seat, Jade followed and we ran to the girl's bathroom.

"I can't do this." I told her as we walked in. We were stopped short by Tracy and her friends.

"Oh, Mariah! We were were just talking about you." Tracy said, smirking. Her followers giggled.

I stayed quiet, trying to ignore them.

"She's so ugly." One of them whispered.

"I don't even think those guys like her, she just wants attention." Another said.

"Of course they don't like her, she isn't even pretty." Tracy finished, flipping her hair.

They all broke out laughing, and I tried my best to keep myself from crying. It was hard, especially because I didn't think I deserved this.

"You're Ugly!" It was Jade. She was in Tracy's face.

Tracy scoffed."Then you're probably not looking close enough." she said.

"You are, and always will be ugly, on the inside and especially the outside." Jade said, stepping closer to Tracy.

Tracy slapped her in the face so hard, she fell to the ground.

"Oh my Gosh! Are you ok?!?" I asked Jade as I dropped by her side. She nodded slowly, trying to catch her breath.

"Don't ever call me that again." Tracy whispered, her voice quivering.

Jade breathed slowly, trying to calm down.

"Ugly." She said, looking at Tracy.

Tracy screamed and grabbed Jade by her hair, they were fighting.

Tracy's friends just stood there in shock.

"Stop!" I screamed as Tracy pulled Jade across the bathroom floor by her hair.

I tackled Tracy and tried to pin her down, but she punched Jade in the face and she dropped, a few seconds went by and she didn't get up.

I yelled out of fear, I tackled Tracy again, this time succeeding in pinning her down. I was on top of her and I punched her in the face, I felt pain in my fist but I didn't stop, I was too angry to.

I heard someone else yelling in the distance and then they dragged me off of Tracy, but I was kicking and screaming trying to hit her again, she deserved to get hurt.

Then familiar arms were around me and I gave up, feeling drained.

I sobbed into their chest, not knowing who it was, but feeling safe.

"Tell me she's ok." I whispered.

I heard Jade groan and I sighed in relief, tears still streaming down my face.

"It's gonna be ok." It was Justin.

I was in his arms. I tried to pull away but he held me tighter, I was too weak to fight again, so I stood in his arms awkwardly.

The Vice Principal came in.

"What the hell happened in here!" She said angrily.

Her eyes converted from Tracy, to me, to Jade. The other girls ran off.

"My office. NOW!" She said, walking away.

"Are you ok?" I whispered to Jade as we walked.

"Yeah." She answered smiling weakly.

"Thanks for defending me." I told her.

"Thanks for punching Tracy in the face for me." She said looking at Tracy.

I looked her way too, I gave her a swollen lip.

She gave me an icy stare, but I just smirked at her. I finally stood up to my biggest enemy.

We walked into the Vice Principal's office and sat down.

"Ladies, because I found you in the bathroom as you were, I will have to suspend you for a week, which means you are not allowed to go to your Junior Prom." She said.

"You don't understand! Tracy was bullying Mariah. I was trying to defend my friend!" Jade said, frustrated.

"Violence is never the answer Jade." She answered calmly.

"But!" I said.

"Enough! I am the Vice Principal so your arguments will not do you any good." She said, gesturing to the door.

"Please collect your things and I will call your parents." She said as we walked out the door.

"I was really looking forward to prom." I told Jade

"We're going to prom this year." She said with determination.

"How?" I whispered.

She smirked.

"I'll come by later and you'll see." She answered, walking away.

I breathed in and out, I'm going to that prom, I don't care what it takes...
