(*Mariah's POV*)

I remember being on the phone with Tyler.

Then BAM! I get hit by a car.

It's funny how things happened unexpectedly.

I remember the pain, and the pool of blood I blacked out in.

I was unconscious but I could still hear what was going on around me.

I heard Tyler and Caleb crying.

I tried opening my eyes but I couldn't.

My parents came in and I heard my Mom screaming for me.

I had to wake up, I had to tell her that I'm ok.

But I couldn't.

Some time passed and there was silence.

I fell asleep and dreamed...

I heard a little girl laugh and I turned around.

I saw a flash of pigtails.

I walked over to the tree where I saw her, but she was gone.

Then I heard it again. The laugh.

I turned around and saw a bed of roses that looked similar to Caleb's

There was a little girl sitting in the middle of it.

She looked up and I saw her big round brown eyes.

"Allison?" I whispered. Not knowing how I knew who she was.

She turned towards me when I called her name.

She giggled and gestured for me to come over.

I walked over to her and she stood up.

"Hi Mariah." She said, giggling.

"A-am I dead?" I asked as the scene changed.

"Not really." She whispered as we stood in my hospital room.

I could see myself laying helplessly on the bed.

Tyler on one side and Caleb on the other.

I smiled slightly.

I felt suddenly torn, knowing that one day I'll have to break one of their hearts and love the other.

I turned my head slightly.

"Don't cry." She whispered grabbing my hand.

I turned towards her and smiled, wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Come with me, I want to show you something." She told me as we walked through the wall.

The scene changed and we were in the past.

"That's me." She said, pointing at the little girl in a six year-old boy's arms.

"Caleb?" I Whispered as I saw the boy hold Allison

Allison nodded and smiled slightly.

"I'll protect you forever!" I heard Caleb say to Allison.

"I'm sorry you couldn't big brother." Allison whispered, tears streaming down her face.

I knelt down and held her close to me.

"He blames himself for my death." She sobbed into my shoulder.

"Shh." I whispered soothingly while I patted her back.

She slowly began to calm down.

"You have to tell him Mariah, tell him it isn't his fault, because even if my accident was two years ago he still believes he could've done something to save me. He feels that way with you too..." She whispered, trailing off.
