Broken Heart

(*Tyler's POV*)

"Hey" It was Justin. He grabbed my shoulder.

I turned around and shoved him on the wall

"Don't touch me!" I yelled.

Everyone around us stopped and watched.

"I just wanted to talk." He said, putting his hands up.

"Then talk." I told him, not letting him go.

"H-how was Mariah after I l-left." He stuttered.

I scoffed. "Why don't you ask her yourself?" I said, letting go of him and walking away.

"Hey are you OK?" Mariah asked looking back at Justin.

"I just need to know something." I said, running my hand through my hair.

"OK." She said, waiting.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. "Do you still have feelings for Justin?" I asked her.

"N-no." She answered looking away.

She was lying but I just nodded.

The bell rang.

"Where are you going?" She asked, following me.

"To class. Alone." I said, leaving her by herself in the hallway.

(*Mariah's POV*)

Tyler left me in the hall. I wiped my eyes as the tears came falling.

"Hey, what's wrong?" It was Jade.

I shook my head, not having the strength to talk.

"Come on, let's get to class." She said. Dragging me with her.

We walked into class but stopped at the door.

"What is he doing here?" Jade whispered as Justin waved at her.

"He's back for good." I whispered, grabbing her closer to me.

She patted my arm and walked me to my desk, sitting next to me.

"OK class. New lab partners for the the last quarter of your junior year." It was the teacher.

I squeezed my eyes shut pleading that I wouldn't be partnered up with Justin.

"Welcome back Justin, you will be partnered up with Tracy." The teacher said.

I sighed. Thank goodness.

"Oh wait, my mistake you will be with Mariah." He said, looking at his paper.

Justin and I walked to our lab table and I got an evil stare from Tracy.

I grabbed the locket from my bag and gave it to him.

"I can't keep it." I told him as I did my work.

He took it back and was quiet for a while.

"Mariah, what did I do so bad that you can't even give me a second chance." He asked, trying to hold my hand. I pulled it away.

"You broke my heart." I whispered to him.

He didn't talk to me after that, and I didn't want him to.

When the bell rang for after school, Caleb was waiting for me.

He started talking to Justin so I walked away.

"Hey wait up." He said, catching up to me.

I stopped and turned around. "Can we please just go to my house and study." I asked him as he grabbed my hand.

"Of course." He said, kissing my forehead.

"Her ex comes back AND she has Caleb and Tyler chasing after her."

"She isn't even pretty." I heard them whispering and giggling.

I walked faster and Caleb followed. I felt tears coming on. I didn't ask for this, I didn't ask for Justin to come back or for Tyler and Caleb to fall in love with me, it just happened...
