Chapter 34 - Leo

I don't remember too much of when the Earth Goddess possessed me, just that I know i had to do something. I did not want to see Jasper and Ozara  kill each other and I heard Mother Earth tell me she could lend me her power. She also told me that the world would restart everything from scratch. The transformations were part of that transition.

I can help you activate your truest self and help restore order said the voice.

I remember Kathair said he was glad I was coming into my power. To be honest I have no idea how happy I am about nature magic. It was amazing to channel Mother Earth's power but also very terrifying at the same time.  Green energy surges through me that brought with it the scenes of the forest and purple mountains surrounding me. I felt like I was at the Purple Mountain National Park again. A strange powerful force flowed through me l as if all the fury of the Earth and all the other Earths were torn apart by the guardians, wizards, and now angels as well. I feel like an immovable stone statue in the sea with veins for arms. 

I hit Ozara with a green energy beam that shook that entire boat. I felt confident I couldn't or wouldn't kill her. I just wanted the fighting to stop however Mother Earth seemed to have other plans. 'Her' voice was in my head.

They are no longer your friends anymore, they are angelic soldiers of the new age and need to be taught a lesson from the earth itself.

"I don't want them to be hurt," I said back.

Fine, but you're only delaying the inevitable.

A second surge of earth power goes through me and I hit Jasper with it. A dark energy I never felt before seemed to be upon him. Ozara runs off and Naomi prepares to follow her i try to stop her its okay one of out should go with Ozara. I agreed and turned to  Jasper who is furious about the situation. Who was he so mad at? It appeared to be not me.

The shadows around him were frenzied and fiery.

"Give her back," says Jasper. "I'm not interested in whatever power you have to offer."

The spirits only laugh as they disappear one by one into the ocean itself.

"Jasper," I yell. "Calm down."

I am grabbing him as he is yanking his way back towards the waves, but he somehow allows himself to stop. He sobs.

"I'm sure she'll be able to fight whatever Hell throws at her," I say, patting his back.

"They should be scared of her," agrees Jasper, nodding. "You are not thinking of accompanying me on a journey to hell are you?

The tunnels of hell go on and on. Somehow, against the better wishes of the two of us, Carmen's kids somehow decided to tag along. Right at the entrance of hell, in the crumbling ruins of Emrion's once promising reality.

Jasper's old friends are there. He feels emotional at seeing them: some of them resemble local myths a moth man and a dinosaur looking creatures seem excited to see him. Wyorms, Trolls, talking roaches, and other creatures that seem to bow quietly at him and his mom's approach.

Genesis had insisted on coming with her son, but Jasper held her hands and said, "No mom. You need to stay here. It's just more important, especially for the well-being of your people."

Jaeyung, Jasper's father, hugs him and gives him a pat on the back. Genesis is crying but Jae just holds her tighter and says, "We raised him right Jen. It's going to be okay."

I'm not entirely sure. As we head out towards the darkened tunnel, I am in charge of leading an angry toddler by the hand, Claire herself.

This should not be happening I think to myself as we descend down the dark hallway, which as we progress, turns into complete blackness. Jaina is rambling about her latest crush and I strain my ear to hear it over the pounding of my beating heart. I am glad that her father is there with his kids. Antonio was not able to leave the three of them alone.
