In life, you only get a few chances. When those pass you by, that's it. You can't recreate life as it went by.

The drones are gone, said the Holy Spirit. All will be at one in peace.

I remember standing before that gigantic ball of light feeling peace and confusion, not knowing what to make of the situation. I was frustrated, wanting answers and understanding of how everything had come to pass.

Now you can go and live your life at one with the whole of the universe.

Naomi and I had gone during the battle to fill the minds of others with the realization of their inner magic. To help them realize the totality of the multiverse and the creation of time. To be able to assist in the battle. We had followed by the philosophy that everyone was capable of self-actualization if they worked hard enough.

You cannot live your whole life like a super-computer, says the Holy-Spirit. The Gnostics led their lives like that and they were forced to confront the truth of the matter - that you cannot discern the divine will of God. He will do what he will do.

"What about the Guardians?" I ask. "They didn't ask to be taken from the rest of us. Where are they now? What have you done with them?"

I've taken them onto the next life, said the Holy-Spirit. That they may be reborn of Fire and Water - getting the chance to become human.

"Why would you do this to them?" I asked. "Arkethia and Genesis have children. You would deny them the chance to see their children grow up? How about Jasper? Did you punish him because he so happened to be working for the other side? It was not by his choice as you know! He deserves to be alive!"

Leo, said the Holy-Spirit. You've always been my scientist. Trying to figure out the way the world works without being able to see the present. You know your fiancée is pregnant right? Carrying a little girl in there right now.

A flurry of thoughts litter my mind: my love of my niece, my inability to be a father right now, my lack of confidence in my ability to be a husband and the overwhelming amount of love that I feel for Naomi.

I'm kidding. Obviously. Don't rush kids. Wait until you're married. Maybe 10 years maybe.

I see the Holy Spirit give me a look as if to say "I'm watching you young one," before leaving
...

That's how I felt when I woke up from my trance.

Everyone and everything was back to normal. There were no Guardians and no magical skies nor seas. This was a normal ocean that we were on, landing back into the Port of Miami. The city glowed in front of us in the dawn of the early twilight hours, as a coast guard ship sailed out to come and greet us.

We all looked as if we had been hit by a bad migraine. Carmen, who first noticed where we were, grabbed a liquor bottle from one of the nearby waiters asking, "Did we win or did we lose? It's important to know."

Jackie erupted with, "I can paint now!"

Meanwhile David, looking pretty sorry for himself, said "Oh God, I have to go to work now and to pay my taxes!"

Everyone was pretty upset about that.

Axel was normal. There were no bird wings on him. He was a tall, lanky 25 year old staring back at me, wondering why I was looking at him so hard. Would he be happy to figure out what had happened to him? How would he adjust to being human?

The Guardians were all gone and Jasper was gone with them. Ozara and I looked everywhere on the ship for him while Carmen dealt with being interrogated by the Coast Guard. Unfortunately, this caused the FBI to want to be involved, and Jodie was forced to come out and meet them.
