It was surprising seeing the amount of energy that Jasper had, nor realizing what it was that I was meant to do. Sure, I didn't really know what I myself was meant to do, but I knew that I was a Defender of Humanity. When I realized this in myself, a golden energy had emitted from me, and I recognized that there was a greater magic in me that I recognized.
It was I that sent Carmen off to Hell. I should have felt guilty about what I had done, but instead I felt nothing but self-righteousness. It was she who had suspected herself to these demonic energies through her cult practices. In fact, you might as well say that it was she who had sent herself off to Hell with all the anger that she was holding in herself.
She would have done nothing more than corrupt him with that dark energy that she possessed, but this seemed to do nothing more than to anger Jasper. Why? Why project this anger onto me when I had nothing to do with it at all?
Leo too looked as if he could not forgive me for what I had done. It doesn't matter now. I don't deal with people who cannot accept the problems they've caused themselves. Nobody could forgive me for what I was meant to do. I would not just be any regular person, I would be the one to stop the Davids, the Arkethias, the Genesis, and the Vampire Queen's from happening. If there was one person to stop what was going on, it was me. It didn't matter if no one was able to recognize it.
I threw myself at Jasper, but he was stronger. His grip pushed against mine, and soon we were tumbling and attacking each other. It was as if we were two giant gods, and I looked down at my form. I am much larger. My arms look like they belong to a robot and, are those talons that seem to be outstretching from my hands?
A roar escapes from deep in my belly, and out of my mouth breaths an entire stream of fire and ice, leaving a trail along the ocean.
Darkness seems to be flying from Jasper's fingertips, and suddenly dark orbs seem to ascend from the sea, flying towards me.
Except, there are light orbs that seem to ascend as well. I feel at my back what feels to be a flaming light, almost as strong as the sun.
The two of us are facing each other. How did it come to this? His eyes are flaming black, and he looks poised to kill me. I am facing back at him, feeling as if there had never been any creature bigger than me. I am the Angel of Light, I am the Metatron, sent to save humanity.
Yet there is a blast of green. This seems to knock us both down.
There's Leo. He's stepping off the ship now, stepping down onto the ocean. It appears to be nothing more than shallow water to him, his giant figure appearing in the middle of us. His brilliant green eyes, and the way that calm seems to follow him. This magic, which appears spiraling out of his hands, is Earth magic. It looks ancient. He feels ancient. The words that appear out of his mouth are not his own, "It is not time yet. It is not time for your bickering and meandering. This will all happen in due time. For now, you must flee this place."
The voice of Mother Earth herself is speaking through Leo. Terrified, I fled the scene in shame.
...
Upon returning to Basque's castle, I was suddenly marveling at all the secrets that I did not take the time to appreciate before. It was night-time, causing the castle to be lit up like a Christmas tree amid the darkness of the night. I swore I had never seen something so beautiful. Glittering neon simulations seemed to emanate from its center, and it was clear to see that the castle was alive like a breathing, emanating clock sitting on the 8 timelines, controlling all things.
I entered the castle again, gazing up at the massive portrait of The Time Guardian on the wall. There was something so holy about it, that it was hard not to stare. The way that the light circumnavigated the length of its wings, its mighty snout of dragon's breath, and the fierce warrior-like quality of its eyes. It was plain to see that there was something special about the creature. Perhaps that's what drew so many people to worship it. They knew that its power truly was divine, that it had come from somewhere else.
