Family After All

An hour later the boys arrived at a small hotel in the center of Kyoto. They booked in and left their luggage in their rooms. Because of their tight budged, once again the boys had to share the rooms with each other. This far into the trip, even Kaidou started noticing the lack of money. 

"So Shun" Aren stood next to him and ruffled his hair "Where do you want to go first?"

Kaidou scratched his neck and giggled quietly. 

"Maybe... let's just look around firstly. We have time to visit my grandparents' restaurant, so we can do it later"

"Sure!" Kuboyasu wanted to grab his hand, but then he remembered he was absolutely not allowed to do that yet, so instead he just shoved both of his hands in pockets. As much as he was respectful with Kaidou's wish, he couldn't help but feeling dejected for having to hide such an important part of himself in front of their friends. 

It's just so unfair. I've waited for so long for us to be boyfriends, and now I feel like it never really happened. 

He promised himself he'll talk about it with Kaidou, but for now he just took a deep breath and let himself enjoy a little bit of that trip. He just mindlessly followed his friends, until someone didn't wake him up, by putting their hand on his shoulder. 

"Someone's moody today" Nendou said with true worry in his eyes. Kuboyasu snorted and turned his head away. 

"I'm not moody. It's just a tiring day. Nothing else" 

"Yeah right. Listen pal: have I ever believed you?"

"W-what?" 

"Yeah, exactly, I know when you're lying"

"Mhm, I have my doubts" Kuboyasu felt his brain cells die during this conversation "What's your point, Nendou?"

"Just tell me what's really going on!"

"Yeah.. no" Aren quickened his speed. He really wasn't in the mood to have pointless conversations with Nendou. 

They walked around different aisles for a while, admiring beautiful architecture, reading all the signs. After two hours of doing so, the heat hit them and so did hunger.

"Oh we should look for something to eat" Kaidou suggested pleadingly.

"Yeah, sure" Kuboyasu answered, also not feeling very well. They didn't even realized how hot it was outside.

Not only that, in a place that crowded like Kyoto, the air was just more dense than in most places. Combine that with different smells coming from so many restaurants, and even higher temperature in a place with no air flow and there are perfect conditions to faint on the street.

Looking for a good place while not knowing anything about the city was becoming pointless, so boys finally entered the closest restaurant that didn't necessarily looked extremely expensive.

They sat by a small table in the corner of the room, and looked at the menu. In reality, only Nendou could really focus on picking food (and even so, he picked classic ramen). Kuboyasu noticed a young, good looking waitress taking an order from other clients. Then his gaze switched to Kaidou, who was playing with a napkin.

A vicious plan came to his mind.

Come on Shun. You'll finally have to show a little bit if jealousy.

With a lump in his throat and a fake smile he looked at the waitress until she noticed his stare. She shyly smiled and looked away.

After two minutes she came to them to take their orders.
