Homecoming

After having a filling breakfast, taking a long shower and a quick panic attack right after, Kaidou could still not admit, that he was ready to go back home. Thought of finally being able to sleep in his own bed was appealing, but confronting his mother on the other hand, was making his guts twist. What was even worse, is the fact that (technically) none of his friends knew about his problem. Although he knew about the psychic powers, Saiki didn't really want to admit, that he knew about Kaidou's problem from the very beginning. And for that reason he wasn't going to talk about it with Shun. Kusuo had his own reasons to not want to go back home as well. He expected to see and confront someone he really didn't want to talk to. He was only going to do that to reveal the truth about his older brother's plan.

'Can you drive today?' Saiki asked when they were packing their luggage to the trunk 'I feel a little under the weather today'

"Oh yeah, sure" Aren answered immediately and close the trunk "Don't worry about it"

And even though Saiki didn't have to worry about driving anymore, he still decided to sit in the front. As he thought - there's no way he could possibly relax next to Nendou or Kaidou.

"I can't wait until I sleep in my room" Even though Kuboyasu found the trip very enjoyable and memorable, he couldn't help but to hanker after his own house "Although I can't complain about places we slept in. We were quite lucky with all those comfortable places"

"Right? Even the cheap motel was quite comfy" Kaidou agreed and looked out of the window, already missing these places. Nobody said anything for another twenty minutes. The silence was calming and none of the boys really wanted to stop it. That was until Nendou saw a deer somewhere in the distance, catching everyone's attention, but only receiving dry "cool" at most.

Shun knew he needed to have his attention diverted from upcoming confrontation. He took out his phone and earbuds, and after searching for a minute, he picked out a random anime to watch. He put his head on the window and was pleasingly surprised with how relaxing the shaking turned out to be. He put the phone on his knees and didn't even notice, when he started rubbing his bandages. He looked away from his phone at his arms and smiled.

Maybe one day you'll also get your story animated, Jet Back Wings.

"Hey guys" Nendou panted irritated "Don't you want to stop somewhere to eat?"

"You had breakfast like an hour and a half ago! You'll survive without eating every two hours!" Aren shouted before realizing that he was definitely too loud for the fact, that they were both sitting in a car, half a meter away from each other "Don't you have any snacks on you?"

"Eee no? Why would I buy any? When I'm on vacation, I'm not going to go to the grocery store"

"I don't know! Maybe for a crazily unlikely scenario when you get hungry in a car!" His grip tightened on the wheel.

"Stop screaming Kuboyasu! It's annoying and giving me a headache"

Aren took several deep breaths, so they wouldn't end up in a car accident.

"You know what? I'm a mature adult, and I'm not going to fight with you over snacks. You won't starve here so shut up and admire the views or something"

At this point, Kuboyasu was surprised how he managed to spend so much time with Nendou and not go insane.

I had to deal with this dumbass since first grade and somehow I'm still alive. It's hard, but possible.

Saiki also needed to distract himself from thinking about every way to torture his brother. Listening to his friends' silly conversations seemed like the best way. When he tried to watch something like Kaidou, he would eventually end up lost in his own thoughts, completely forgetting to focus on the show.
