But one day something different happened. During a science class, while they were sitting in their seats, Jane felt a hand on her desk. He looked and saw that Luca was pushing it with the tip of his pen. " Hey, Jane, I told you that those pants are really too big for you," she said in a tone that meant to be funny but made Jane feel small and insignificant.
Everyone around them laughed. Andrea looked at the scene, but she didn't know how to intervene. Jane felt the tears in her eyes, but she held back, holding her hands tight on her pants, trying not to show how much Luca's words hurt her.
But this time, something inside her snapped. She didn't want to put up with it anymore. At that moment, he did something he had never done before: he got up from his chair and left the class without saying anything. Her steps were fast, but her heart was beating fast. She didn't know where she was going, but she felt the need to get away from it all.
He came into the corridor and leaned against a wall, trying to hold back his tears. But this time he could not stop. Tears came down, and he felt powerless. No one seemed to understand how much he was suffering.
Andrea, who had been worried in the meantime, ran behind her and found her in the corridor. Without saying anything, he hugged her. "You are not alone, Jane. You never were," she whispered.
Jane held her tightly, finally feeling some relief. But inside, he knew it would be difficult, that the road would not be easy. But with Andrea by his side, perhaps, he could make it.
