since winter and autumn had school next month, taraji wanted to start school shopping for them now. apparently, their mom wasn't feeling her best, so of course, i tagged along.
we were currently at old navy, getting their uniforms. i know exactly where im going when bry is old enough for school. this store has everything.
"you need to grab yourself some of these clothes."
"why?"
"because you got the mind of a child."
"taraji, get out my face." she laughed as if that was funny.
"would that be all?" the cashier asked.
"yeah"
"okay, your total is two thousand eight seven dollars and ninety-five cents."
my mouth dropped, but also looking at everything she bought them, i can see why the price is that high. both of them had at least 5 bags each.
"that ain't so bad." she simply said before giving the lady her card.
she paid, we left that store and went to footlocker. i was definitely getting bryce some shoes.
"autumn and winter to–"
"touch the shoes we want and come back to you. we know, mama." winter sassed.
"okay, go ahead."
they walked off, and taraji turned to bryce smiling.
"you want some shoes too, big boy?" she kissed his cheek before putting him on her hip.
"so, how does that work? they just tap it, and you buy it?"
"yeah, basically. the last time i picked them out, winter cried and told me i couldn't dress. so shit"
this is the first time winter has lied. if taraji couldn't do anything else, she could definitely dress.
"what if it doesn't go with their uniform?"
"if it didn't, i wouldn't let them pick out school shoes. it's gon come together, just wait until they done."
i picked up some cute little black and white dunks.
"after we leave here, im gonna go to claire's so i can get his ears pierced."
"alright"
"and while we there, you too." she never had her ears pierced, which i found odd.
"nah, i ain't say all that. you tryna get that shoe for him?"
"you tryna change the subject?"
"yeah, see if they got that shoe in his size"
walking up to the front, i could see logan on autumns ipad. she was showing her the shoe wall. i chuckled and awaited someone to acknowledge me.
when someone finally came, her eyes were somewhere other than on me. i didn't bother to look back, but it was a little disturbing.
"she'll take you. ill be right back." she dismissed me and walked off. okay...
"hey, how may i help?"
"do you guys have this in a three c?"
"give me a second. ill check for you."
"okay." in the meantime, i went to see what winter was doing.
i found her in the mirror, checking out the shoe she had put on.
