Third person pov

"I want to confess something," Heejung said, standing up from the couch.

"Okay, I’ll listen. But you’ll have to wait a moment," Minho replied, heading toward the kitchen.

"Do you want coffee, Mr. Han?" he asked from the kitchen.

"No," Heejung replied shortly.

After a good ten minutes, Minho returned with two cups of coffee, placing his own on the counter. He grabbed a glass of water, some painkillers, and Jisung's coffee before heading upstairs to the younger's room.

"Take these tablets, Sungie," Minho said, handing over the water and pills while placing the coffee cup on the nightstand.

After Jisung obediently took the tablets, Minho swallowed one himself.

"Have this coffee and rest, okay? I’ll be in the hall. Call me if you need anything," Minho reassured him.

"Aren’t you tired? Come on, we can rest together, hyung," Jisung said softly, his voice tinged with concern.

"You sleep. I’ll join you soon, hmm?" Minho replied, leaning in to press a soft kiss to the younger’s temple before heading back downstairs.

As he descended, his warm expression quickly turned cold upon seeing Jisung’s father. His jaw tightened, but he masked his emotions well.

Minho sat opposite the elder alpha, his movements measured. Taking a sip of his coffee, he said coldly, "Confess, Mr. Han."

Heejung hesitated, then began. "Well... Jisung's heat... it’s not natural. It’s..."

"Induced. It’s induced by an illegal drug," Minho cut in, his tone sharp and his eyes ablaze with anger.

"Y-you know?" Heejung stammered, startled.

"Lee Know knows everything, Mr. Han," Minho replied with a smirk, leaning back. "But I still have some unanswered questions."

"Your name is Lee Know?" the elder asked, puzzled.

"Nope, just a nickname. My real name is Lee Minho," Minho revealed with a sharp smirk, his eyes locked onto Heejung.

Heejung’s expression faltered. "W-what?" he stuttered, his heart sinking.

Minho leaned back in his chair, his smirk widening. "Oh, and in case you need more confirmation—yes, I’m that Lee Minho. The heir to the Lee Group of Companies."

Heejung froze, his face pale. "But… but they said Minho and Felix were in Canada!" he stammered.

"That’s a convenient story, isn’t it?" Minho said with a mocking chuckle. "Family drama aside, I’m here now, Mr. Han. And I’m going to make sure no one walks away unscathed from this mess."

Heejung swallowed hard, struggling to keep his composure.

"Now, tell me, Mr. Han, what the hell is happening in the Lee Group of Companies? I already have some guesses, but I need the full explanation."

Heejung shifted uncomfortably, then dropped his gaze. "Well... then, Lee Minho, your father’s company is involved in human trafficking," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "And… I’m a part of it too," he confessed, his head bowing further in shame.

Minho clenched his fists tightly, his jaw working furiously as he tried to suppress his growing anger. "We guessed as much," he said coldly, his voice tight. "Go on."

Heejung hesitated but continued. "It’s… not just about selling omegas," he said, gulping. "They… rent them."

"What? Rent them?!" Minho yelled, slamming his hand on the table.

"Yes," Heejung admitted, his voice trembling. "That drug… it’s used to induce an omega’s heat. When alphas with ruts request an omega, we administer the drug. Mostly, these requests come from the so-called finest alphas. Their ruts are extremely intense, and only an omega in heat can handle them."

Minho’s eyes burned with fury as he glared at the elder. "Don’t you ever feel guilty about this?! You have a son who’s an omega, for God’s sake!" he shouted. "Is there more to this?"

Heejung sighed, his voice breaking. "The payments were high… and the drug Jisung consumed wasn’t the standard one. It was a modified version. Scientists altered it to induce heat for just one day instead of weeks. But…" He paused, guilt written all over his face.

"But what?" Minho demanded, his voice icy.

"Some omegas suffered terrible side effects from the drug. Some even died," Heejung admitted quietly. "The standard drug induces heat for weeks, while ruts only last a few days. Their bodies couldn’t endure it."

Minho exhaled sharply, his fury barely contained. "Why did you engage Jisung with Hyunjin? Hyunjin is younger than Jisung. Does this involve the Hwang Group as well?"

Heejung flinched but answered, "Mr. Hwang, your father’s rival, discovered what the Lee Group was doing. He threatened me to expose the truth, but… I made a deal with him. If he agreed to marry his son to Jisung, I would confess everything with solid evidence." He looked up at Minho, his eyes pleading. "It was all for Jisung’s safety."

Minho let out a dark chuckle, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. "This is exactly why I hate those kinds of people," he muttered.

He leaned forward, his eyes boring into Heejung’s. "So, Mr. Han, you’ve confessed everything to me, but words aren’t enough. I need solid evidence to fight the Lee Group."

"But… that’s… I—" Heejung faltered, struggling to find his words.

"You’re thinking it through, aren’t you?" Minho said, his tone cold and unyielding. "You’ll have to gather the evidence yourself, even if it incriminates you. At least it might lessen your punishment," he added, his fiery gaze pinning the elder alpha in place.

"O-okay… but promise me you’ll take care of Jisung," Heejung said weakly, his voice barely audible.

"That’s not even a question," Minho replied firmly.

With that, Heejung stood, gave a small nod, and left the house, leaving Minho alone in the silence of the living room. Minho exhaled heavily, his hands trembling slightly as he clenched and unclenched them. His mind swirled with anger, plans, and the overwhelming need to protect Jisung from the darkness surrounding them.
