"Mind explaining?" the confused omega, Jisung, asked softly, his wide eyes full of uncertainty as he glanced at his mate. Minho, however, was too stunned to respond, his gaze fixed on the red-haired man before him.

"You’re betraying your own mate?!" Minho suddenly shouted, his voice thick with rage, directing his fury at Hyunjin. He completely ignored Jisung’s question, his focus solely on the other alpha.

"Minho, please sit down. We need to talk this through," Hyunjin urged, trying to keep his voice steady as he faced the angry alpha. Minho’s pheromones filled the place—an intense, heady whiskey scent, crackling with barely contained aggression.

"Sit down and listen for once, Minho! Stop yelling and be reasonable!" Hyunjin’s voice broke through, his tall frame tense as he tried to hold his ground against Minho’s intimidating presence.

"Minho, calm down," Jisung whispered, his gentle tone carrying a hint of his own omega pheromones into the air. It was a soothing wave, enough to soften the edge of Minho’s anger. Minho exhaled sharply, taking a deep breath before sitting next to his mate, his hand clenching tightly around Jisung’s.

"Fine. Now explain," Minho growled, his sharp gaze never leaving Hyunjin. "You’re trying to cheat on my brother?"

Hyunjin’s expression twisted with frustration. "Do you really think I’d do that? If I wanted to cheat, I would’ve done it years ago, not now when Felix is about to come of age!" His tone was exasperated, a flicker of pain crossing his eyes.

"Hey!" Jisung suddenly interrupted, his eyebrows furrowing in annoyance. "I’m right here, you know. What the hell are you even talking about?"

Minho’s jaw tightened before he spoke again, his voice thick with anger. "Jisung, this is Hwang Hyunjin. His father owns Hwang Enterprises, and their family has been rivals with mine for years. And he," Minho pointed accusingly at Hyunjin, "is Felix’s mate. My younger brother, who’s still 17. And now this asshole is trying to betray him after Felix has trusted him so blindly!"

"I’m not betraying him!" Hyunjin barked back, his face flushed. "It’s my parents! They’re forcing me into this! You can ask your mate—I literally just told him to run away from this marriage right before you showed up."

Minho’s eyes flicked to Jisung, a silent question hanging in the air. "Is that true?" he asked, his voice a mix of disbelief and frustration.

Jisung nodded slowly, biting his lip. "It’s true. He did."

Hyunjin’s voice softened slightly as he spoke again. "I think there’s something going on between my father and your father. Since your dad works for a rival company, I wouldn’t put it past them to use any means necessary to get ahead. And they wouldn’t hesitate to marry you off to someone younger if it suited their plans."

"Younger than me?" Jisung’s eyes widened, turning toward Hyunjin with suspicion. "How old are you?"

"Twenty," Hyunjin replied.

"What?!" Jisung gasped, feeling a wave of shock hit him.

"Enough!" Minho’s voice cut through the air. "Let’s stop wasting time with all this and figure out what to do next."

Hyunjin nodded, running a hand through his red hair as he regained his composure. "Jisung, have you noticed anything strange at your house? Or anything off about your father’s behavior?"

Jisung shook his head. "No… except for the time he screamed at me during a conversation. Minho was with me then."

"And you, Minho? Anything suspicious?"

"Not really. I haven’t been home," Minho admitted. Since getting a job as a dance teacher, he’d rented an apartment to live with his younger brother. Neither of them wanted to stay with their indifferent parents any longer.

Hyunjin sighed and turned to them. "I did notice something strange, but I’m not sure if it means anything."

Minho scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Spit it out already, stop being dramatic."

Hyunjin glared at him but continued. "I saw something on my dad’s desk—a bottle of medicine. It’s used to induce heat and fertility in omegas… but in large doses. When I looked it up, I found out it’s illegal."

Minho’s eyes narrowed. "That’s a drug, not a miracle. Talk straight."

"Can you try to steal it?" Jisung asked cautiously, his fingers twisting together nervously.

"I don’t need to," Hyunjin replied, pulling out his phone. "I took a picture." He quickly scrolled through his gallery, then handed the phone over, showing them the image.

Jisung’s breath hitched in his throat. "I-I’ve seen this before. In my dad’s drawer…" His voice cracked as the realization sunk in.
