The Thousand Sunny rocked gently on the waves as the crew gathered on the deck, their eyes fixed on the newest addition standing before them. The skeleton—yes, an actual walking, talking skeleton—bowed deeply, tipping his top hat with one bony hand.
“Yohohoho! Hello and good day to everyone!” Brook’s voice rang out, smooth and jovial, as if he were greeting old friends. “I will be joining you on this ship as of today! Once dead and all my bones! My name is Brook! Pleased to make your acquaintance!” He straightened up and spread his arms dramatically, as if expecting applause.
“WHAT THE HECK IS HE?!” The reaction was immediate. Zoro, Franky, Usopp, and Chopper yelled in unison, their faces contorted in varying degrees of shock and horror.
Meanwhile, Luffy stood nearby, his arms crossed and a grin plastered across his face, clearly proud of his decision. Nami and Sanji, however, stood off to the side, heads bowed and shoulders slumped in utter defeat, looking as though they wanted to disappear into the floor.
“Yo-ho-ho! My, you all seem suspicious!” Brook laughed heartily, his hollow eye sockets somehow managing to convey amusement.
“A-a-a skeleton!” Chopper stammered, holding up a makeshift cross as if it would ward off the unholy being in front of him.
“There’s no way a skeleton can talk and move and… have an afro!” Usopp cried, clutching a string of prayer beads tightly in his trembling hands. “This has to be a dream! It has to be a dream!”
“Really?! It’s just a dream?!” Chopper asked, suddenly hopeful, his eyes lighting up as he wiped the sweat from his brow.
“Evil spirits, begone! Evil spirits, begone!” Usopp chanted, waving the beads like a weapon.
Brook tilted his head, the motion oddly fluid despite his lack of muscles or tendons. “Oh my, another beautiful lady!” His tone took on a flirtatious edge as he turned his empty gaze toward Robin. “May I take a look at your panties?”
Before Robin could even react, a loud thwack echoed across the deck as Nami hurled her shoe with pinpoint accuracy, striking Brook squarely in the head.
“STOP THAT, YOU SEXUAL HARASSING SKELETON!” Nami yelled, her face red with anger.
Brook staggered back slightly, clutching his skull as though he actually felt pain. “Oh my! That hurt me right to the bone! Yohoho!”
“Y/N!” Zoro bellowed, jabbing a finger in Brook’s direction, his frustration bubbling over as he turned to Y/N for answers. “WHAT IS HE?!”
“Dunno,” Y/N answered casually with an amused grin. “But he’s quite polite for a skeleton, isn’t he?”
“Polite?!” Zoro repeated, incredulous.
“I made him join us!” Luffy interjected with uncontainable excitement, his voice cutting through the growing chaos. He jabbed his thumb toward his chest, grinning proudly as if he’d just solved a great mystery.
Zoro’s glare darkened as he rounded on Nami and Sanji, his voice rising with frustration. “I WON’T ACCEPT THAT! What were you guys doing?!” His sharp gaze flicked between them. “You went with these idiots so you could stop them from doing stupid stuff like this!”
Nami and Sanji exchanged a defeated glance before bowing their heads in unison. “We’re ashamed,” they admitted, their voices heavy with resignation.
“Yohohoho!” Brook’s laughter rang out again as he spread his arms wide in an attempt to calm the brewing storm. “Why don’t we all settle down and talk about this in a civilized manner? Go on! Let’s head inside! It’s time for dinner!” He gestured grandly toward the dining room, as if he were the ship’s host rather than its latest—and most bizarre—addition.
