Never call daemons, demons. They're two different things; a daemon is a spirit that can be good or evil. Also, include the spirit of living people. Daemons aren't necessarily evil. Demons are evil spirits.
This is what we're taught growing up. A modern world where daemons are real. They all have their territories. For the most part, they're quiet. But it wasn't always like that.
One day hundred or more years ago, daemons appeared. No one knows why or how. Those days were blood and murder. That was till The King showed up. The bloodshed and murder was over, at least for humans it was. The daemons fought between themselves.
Nowadays it's quiet, depending on whose territory you live in. Whitebeard's territory is one of the oldest from the era of The King. He's pretty peaceful, but the moment you attack his sons, daughter or people. The land shakes violently. Best not to piss him off.
Big Mum yeah... Best to stay away from her, her children and her territory. Also, the Germa 66 is another one to stay away from. Judge likes to experiment on his children and humans.
There are a few good daemon lords. I live in Eustass Kidd's territory. It's not a great or bad place. He doesn't kill many people unless they piss him off. Or they break something of his. We do have to do monthly offerings. The offerings can be money, jewels, weapons, or anything from his bands/singers. I remember one year I made a metal statue of him. Don't know if it was taken or if Dad got rid of it.
"Hmm?" I look down, Stud my dog-sized mechanical bull nudging my bed. "What's the matter Stud?"
He breathes out steam from his nose. He's annoyed over something... I don't remember when I got him. I just know he's always been around.
He charges the bed, "oi! Quit your shit! I don't want to sleep on the floor!" I get out of bed, "there I'm out! What do you want?"
He walks off and sits in his corner...
"You're a dick!" It looks like he's chuckling... "I'm going for breakfast." He jumps back up and follows me downstairs.
I get to the kitchen, "what's his problem this morning?" Kat looks over to him.
"Just being a dick," I make breakfast.
"Isn't he always a dick?"
"That he is, but he's my bull."
Mum and Dad walk in, "morning." We say look over at them. They look upset.
"What's up?" Kat puts her cup down.
"We..." Mum starts crying.
"Sit down..." Dad helps her sit.
I sit next to Kat. "What's going on?"
"We got a letter..."
"A letter from who?" I look between them.
"From Daemon Lord Kidd..." Mum starts crying again.
"What does he want? We've done nothing to piss him off." Kat stands up.
"It's about the offering."
"Oh, he wants something. Makes it easier for us." I start eating.
"He wants you. He wants (Y/N) as his offering!"
"What... Why me? What the fuck did I do?"
"He can't have (Y/N)!" Kat grabs me, "she's done nothing wrong!"
I look at Stud, I know he's a part of Lord Kidd. I know I haven't said anything bad against him.
"I'll go."
