Papillon POV

After Isheba left I needed time to process. I tried to block my mates, but was so emotionally spent, it was pointless.

I quickly leave before they get home. If I see them, they'll try to talk me out of confronting my parents.

On the drive the voice is back in my head ... not too strong, but clear, coherent and clear.

'Hello Sis.'

'Hmph, how long have you been waiting to call me that?'

'Since I was 14'

'Where are you Hope?'

''You don't have to be afraid of me, promise.'

'I would still feel better knowing where you are.'

'I have no interest whatsoever in hurting you, or my niece and nephew. I just want to talk. Could we please do that? Could we talk in person like adults?'

I block her and call my Dad.

He picks up on the first ring.

"Sweetheart ..... everything OK? I haven't felt you for the past day or so. Your mother and I are beginning to worry, why are you blocking us?"

Are you at home? I need to talk to you and Mom.

"Yes, we're here .... Hold on your mother is talking to someone at the door honey. What's going on? Hold on ... Larry ..... he's here?"

Larry is there? Ughhhh ... OK, I'll be there in about 10 and explain everything unless he's already told you.

"Told us what?"

I let my block down just a little bit and I hear my Dad draw in his breath.

"Oh no .... Papillon I can explain."

I'll be there in about 10 minutes Daddy.

Larry POV

Papi won't talk to me or Lau, whatever Isheba help her uncover must be very heavy.

She blocking us so hard. She won't even make eye contact. I so worried about her I decided to go by her parents house.

Mama Devereux hug me big and lead me in. I see her Dad in the other room on the phone.

"What's going on Larry ... Papi is getting worse."

I know.

"I'll get her father ...

I hear Papillon mother talking in the other room, I so glad things are clear now, but I wonder how difficult this will be for my wife.

"So Papillon will be here soon. Thanks for coming over Son, she will need your support."

Her Dad sit next to me and touch my shoulder.

"This is not what you think. I never ...."

No judgement from me Sir.

"No no no stop with the Sir, please .. you don't understand Larry."

Papillon mother sigh and leave the room.

Dad, I do understand how things happen, but is Mama D. OK?

"This is just opening old wounds for Laura, she is fine. I'm more worried about my little girl."

I am too.

My mother in law come back with a tray of drinks. She hand us each a glass of Eros elixir. I'm glad, I need something to settle my mind.

We sit in silence for a few minutes and the energy calms, until we all feel Papillon. Physically she subdued, but psychically she on 10.

Papillon calmly walk in and pick up a glass and down it in one gulp.

Her energy feel strange, so nobody say anything.

I get ready to talk, but her Dad put his hand up.

Papillon sit on the chair across from us and lean back ...

"So, who wants to tell me what the fuck is going on?"

Been out of the loop for a very long time. Have a Mom with early dementia who moved to Hawaii with us. I wanted her to stay in our guest room and she was fine for a while, but she really needed her own place where she could transfer into more assisted-living when the time comes. So, had to get her settled in her own place. Next I needed to go back to Georgia to get things settled there, but couldn't leave because my mini schnauzer Kona was diagnosed with late stage kidney disease. Had to give him daily subq fluids, etc. so I couldn't go to the mainland just yet ... he held on for a while. Made it through to my mother's birthday in September, his on October 8, and mine on October 25, but he eventually lost his battle . My little boy went in my arms on October 27 at 9:37am .

Needless to say Life has just been lifing , but writing is fun and I will be doing a lot of it over the holidays.
