After returning home from the market. I sat in my father's truck watching the rain fall. It rarely rained in the summer, but of all days, it had to rain tonight.
Seeing her at the store stirred up so many feelings. I couldn't believe that after three long years, I was still hung up on a girl who didn't care about me.
To her, I was just a ghost from her past. I loved her deeply, but I couldn't understand why she hated me or why I still cared.

"Damn, that's crazy. I didn't expect that," he replied
"Yeah, I guess you were right about letting go and moving on," I replied, shutting my phone off.
I regretted not staying on base. Coming home was a foolish decision that I now deeply regretted. With every passing day, I struggled to adjust to the overwhelming changes surrounding me, it felt like everything was shifting beneath my feet.
Walking into my new bathroom, I couldn't lie; it was way better than my bathroom on base. The spaciousness, the sleek tiles—it felt like a luxury I was unaccustomed to. Yet, instead of comfort, there was unease, gnawing at me.
Turning on my shower, the water started cascading down as steam filled the air, but I found myself lost in thoughts that battled for dominance in my mind.
