EVERYTHING SEEMED TO SLOW DOWN, time, the weather, everything. Nor was anything around them relevant. The only thing either one could focus on was the other's heart beat.

It was comforting in a way, regardless if either wanted to admit it or not. That's probably why they laid there for so long, basking in each other's presence in utter silence. Comfortable silence specifically.

But then, unfortunately, reality kicked in when a car flew down the street, and the trance it seemed like both of them were in went away. Julian's eyes widened, and red's muscles seem to tense under julian at the same time.

Julian immediately got off red (slowly pulling away from red's hand that was on his head), brushing his self off, and fixing his beanie. It was embarrassing how he ended up in that position, on top of red of all people. He knew red was going to explode on him too.

Like he just got done telling him if he ever saw him again, he'd beat him up. And then, not only did he see him, julian landed on top him.

But he really just wanted to help him out, not end up on top of him, regardless of the outcome, but red didn't seem like the type of person to care about technicalities.

So when red finally got up, not making a sound, and faced julian staring at him with an expression julian couldn't quite figure out, julian braced his self for the scolding knowing it was about to happen, and started saying, "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to... uh... fall on you like that. I was just-"

"Thank you."

Julian froze. He was cut off by red's deep voice... thanking him?

That was not what he was expecting, and so he stood there, once again, looking like a fool. The amount of times he ended up looking like a fish out of water because of red needed to be studied.

"Fix ya' face." Julian realized his mouth was open, still, so he closed it. "I can recognize the fact dat without chu' I would've been squashed like a pancake ona street een if Ion like yo' ass."

"Not dat it'll matta' if I did die den, I jus' wouldn't be able to go where I need to right na."

Julian didn't know whether he was actually hearing what he was correctly. It almost sounded like he was grateful, and julian didn't know how to take that. Even if he said he didn't like him because he didn't seem to like anybody.

But his disregard for his life was strange, and concerning in julian's opinion. The fact he was only thanking him because he had to go somewhere, and well, being dead he wouldn't be able to was strange as well. Where was this place that was so important that it caused him to thank julian in response?

Wait.. it wasn't my business, Julian thought to his self, and decided to look past it. What he had to do, where he had to go, how he felt about his life, wasn't something he should be concerning his self about.
