THE FUNERAL WAS QUIET. Almost too quiet, you could hear everything. Maybe even the way trey's heart was about to jump out his chest.
It barely started, and yet all trey wanted was for it to end quickly.
It was just him.
His baby.
And the actual officiant of the funeral.
There were pallbearers too, sure. But they stood in the back. Trey couldn't care less about them. Usually the pallbearers were related to the actual deceased. Most of the time. But they were strangers in this case, and so trey didn't seem to care to look back at them once.
He caught a glimpse of them though. And they looked strong enough to carry the casket. Which was all that mattered.
Since trey couldn't break eye contact with said casket in front of him.
He felt like he suffocating.
Drowning.
Burning.
Like he was dying with his mother all together.
The longer he stared at the casket, the more he wanted to run up to it. Open it. Grab his mom. And hug her.
Hug her until she hugged him back.
Was he really dying? He couldn't tell anymore. This feeling made him want to rip his heart out his chest. It was too painful.
He was losing it again. He held it together yesterday looking at her. Didn't say much. Tried not to cry again and again, then just hugged his lover until he couldn't anymore.
Now he was here again. Dressed in her favorite color. Dark purple.
Standing in front of her permanent home.
A home that didn't include trey in it.
The last couple of months helped mask trey's feelings on his mother. He never had time to actually completely get over her death.
He never stood a chance it seemed.
Everything kept distracting him. Which he let. Because he didn't want to face reality that the only thing he had to live for, for so long, was really not coming back.
Lamar left a bitter taste in his month, his mind, his soul. Everything. But it's been so long since he's seen him. Heard him. Fought for him. Thinking about him now of all time just made trey even more horrible. But he was the reason his mother suffered so fucking much. He kept trey back from taking care of her to his full potential.
He's the reason trey turnt out the way he did. Probably a way his mother wouldn't be too proud of now. Everything seemed to lead back to him, huh?
He was the reason his mother lasted so long too, okay, even if he threatened to hurt her. Over and over again. But trey couldn't seem to care through the tears brewing in his eyes. Lamar bishop made him suffer, in exchange for keeping his dying mother alive longer. And for that, trey hated him with his entire being.
