"Happy Birthday Dudley!" everyone chimed in unison, popping party poppers together to celebrate.
Dudley grinned at them.
"Cake!" he yelled, causing them all to gasp.
"Was that..." Minerva began.
"His first word" Severus said, smiling softly. "Well done, Dudley".
They chatted idly for a few minutes, before they all dispersed to get some food.
Pomona came over to Severus as he was pouring Harry a cup of juice.
"What made you want to give Dudley a second birthday, Severus?" she asked, eyeing him up wearily.
"What do you mean? Today's his birthday, Albus told me".
"Well he's a bit daft then. Dudley's already had his second birthday. He was born on June 23rd. Why didn't you just check his birth certificate?"
"Because I thought I could trust Dumbledore. Clearly not. Well, I guess we have to stay here now, since Dudley's so excited, but we're leaving soon, don't you think otherwise".
"Don't go killing people like you would do, you traitor".
"Excuse you?"
"You heard. Death eater".
"Right, ok. Come on, Harry, Dudley. Get some cake and some juice - we're leaving".
With that, Severus grabbed the cake and left.
