Recovery Room

The following morning, Emma was awake watching her son sleep. Killian returns from work at the pub. "How is our son?"

"He is in pain and very tired but that is part of recovery."

"Have you gotten any sleep?"

"Some. I have been watching him sleep. Have you gotten sleep?"

"I only took a cat nap in my office. I could barely sleep anyway. I can watch our boy so you two can get some sleep. " He rubs her baby bump.

She slowly got out of her son's bed and kissed her boyfriend on the cheek. She went to sleep on the couch knowing her boyfriend was watching Henry.

A few hours later, Killian was making sure Henry ate his breakfast. Snow White arrives with a large gift. "Hi, Henry."

"Hi, Nana. I got my appendix out. Papa took me here."

"I am glad you are feeling better. I came here last night but you were sleeping."

"Is that for me?"

"Yes."

"Lad, after you finish your eggs, you can open your present."

"Your eggs are better Papa."

"I know but you need to eat to feel better."

"Then we can go home?"

He gently hugged his son. "Yes, lad."

Emma wakes up seeing her Mom in her son's recovering room. "Mom, that is a pretty big gift."

"Yes. I figured Henry has been through a lot lately..."

"You feel guilty of not being there..."

"Yes."

"He is feeling better now. He will be here for a few days.."

"He is looking better than last night."

"Yes. Killian came a few hours ago. I got some sleep."

"Nana! Can I open my present now? I ate my eggs."

SNow White sets the gift on the bed. With Killian's help, Henry opened his present which was Captain Hook lego set. "WOw!! A hook lego set!!"

"What do you say to your Nana, kid?"

"Thank you."

Snow White gently hugged her grandson. "You are welcome."

"Lad, we can build the Jolly Roger lego together."

"On your birthday can we go sailing on your Jolly Roger?"

Killian knows the little lad is going to be in recovery for a while. "It might be too cold to sail, it is winter. We can go on the Jolly Roger to check on the ship."

"I can help?"

"Yes." Henry smiles big. "Let's see these legos." Killian began reading the directions. Emma smiles at her two boys bonding.

Snow White gives her daughter her breakfast and a pair of clean clothes. "Thank you, Mom."

"How are you doing and the baby?"

"We are okay. I got some sleep."

"What are you doing for his birthday?"

"I have an idea. I just need your help and keep it a secret."

"I can help. I will keep it a secret." The mother and daughter smile, they have a party to plan.

"Mommy."

Emma goes to her son. "Baby, I am here." She hugged her son.

"Can we go home to Nana and Gwamps house? I do not like it here."

"When Allison said we can go home, we will go home."

"I do not like it here."

"Mommy works here. The hospital is a safe place. All of Mommy's work friends are asking me about you."

"Really?"

"Yes, they want to know how you are doing." She kissed her son on the head.

"Lad, you have your Hook doll and your amazing Mommy here with you."

"You too, Papa. I do not want you to leave."

"I am not leaving you, lad. I promise." He gently hugged his son.

Emma smiles at her two boys. Killian is an amazing father to her son and will be to their baby in 5 months from now.
