Chapter 51:

The gym buzzed with anticipation as fans poured into the stands. The energy was electric, and everyone knew this wasn't just another game—it was the game. UConn versus Notre Dame. Paige versus Hannah. And the internet was living for it.

The pregame shootaround was filled with tension and glances. Paige dribbled to half court, spinning the ball on her finger, catching Hannah's gaze across the court. Hannah gave her a smirk and a head nod, as if to say, Bring it on.

Azzi jogged past Paige, giving her a light shove. "Focus. I don't need you turning this into the WWE."

Paige grinned, stretching her arms out dramatically. "What? Me? Never. But if Hannah Montana wants the spotlight, I'm happy to give her a show."

The Notre Dame players, led by Olivia Miles, started their layup line, Hannah at the front. She hit a windmill layup, glancing in UConn's direction. Paige noticed, chuckling to herself.

"Alright, Azzi, let's make this fun," she said.

Tip-Off

From the jump, it was clear this wasn't going to be a friendly game. The trash talk started early, with Olivia and Paige exchanging words after nearly every play. Hannah hit a tough layup over Paige in the first quarter and, on her way back down the court, whispered, "That's one."

Paige, unbothered, fired back by sinking a deep three right in Hannah's face the next possession. She blew on her fingers like they were smoking and mouthed, "That's one, too."

Azzi was doing her best to keep things level-headed, scoring quietly and efficiently while Paige and Hannah made the game personal. By halftime, Notre Dame led by six, with Hannah and Paige both putting on a show.

The Second Half:

As the game tightened up in the fourth quarter, the stakes felt heavier with each possession. Paige stole the ball from Olivia and sprinted for a fast break. Hannah was right on her heels, and when Paige went for the layup, Hannah sent it flying into the stands.

The Notre Dame fans erupted as Paige turned to Hannah with a sly grin. "Nice block, Montana. I didn't know Disney taught defense."

Hannah stepped closer, clearly enjoying the banter. "Keep talking, Paige. I'll see you in the box score."

The refs stepped in before things escalated further, but the tension didn't go unnoticed by fans or the cameras. Social media blew up, with clips of the exchange going viral in real time.

Notre Dame's Revenge

In the final two minutes, Notre Dame pulled ahead by four. Paige hit another three to cut it to one, but Hannah responded with a tough jumper, staring Paige down as she ran back.

With seconds left, UConn had the ball, down by two. Paige drove to the basket but was fouled hard by Olivia, sending her to the free throw line.

The gym went silent as Paige dribbled, her usual confidence shining through. She hit the first free throw, cutting the lead to one. The second shot rimmed out, and Hannah snagged the rebound, securing Notre Dame's win.

As the buzzer sounded, Paige stood at midcourt, hands on her hips, staring at the scoreboard.

In the handshake line, things were surprisingly calm. Paige shook hands with Olivia and then Hannah, who leaned in with a grin. "Not bad, Paige. But maybe next time, don't miss free throws."

Paige laughed, shaking her head. "Don't get too comfortable, Montana. I'll see you in the tournament."

After the game, Azzi went live on Instagram to talk to fans. Paige, sitting in the background, grabbed her phone and scrolled through the comments.

"Yo, Azzi, someone said Notre Dame's team was carrying Hannah like a Disney Channel original movie," Paige said loudly, making sure everyone could hear.

On the other side, Olivia and Hannah joined the live. Olivia smirked. "Paige, you stay salty. We beat y'all, and you're still talking?"

Paige leaned into Azzi's live. "I'm just saying, when the rematch comes, don't be surprised when y'all end up as bloopers."

Hannah, sitting next to Olivia, rolled her eyes. "Keep dreaming, Bueckers. March can't come fast enough."
