"Good morning," I greeted Lorelai, sliding out of my room.
Rory emerged a few moments later. "Woah, looks like someone's in project mode today."
I rubbed my eyes and finally saw clearly that Lorelai was organizing our catalogs.
"Whatcha doing there?" I sat in a seat next to Lorelai after getting my coffee.
She turned to me with a big smile on her face. "I'm finding all the companies that give us catalogs, then I will proceed to call them and ask them to stop sending us duplicates."
"A noble deed," I commented, taking a sip from my mug.
"It's getting ridiculous," Lorelai continued. "We get ten of some of these."
Rory picked up a particularly large stack and began reading off the names on the mailing address. "We have Lorelai Gilmore, Rory Gilmore, Lucy Gilmore, Lorelai Rory Gilmore, Lorelai Lucy Gilmore, Rory Lorelai Gilmore, Rory Lucy Gilmore, Lucy Rory Gilmore, Lucy Lorelai Gilmore, Lucy Gilm, Rory Gilm, Lorelai Gilm, and one for Mrs. Clementine Shufflebottom."
Rory sent a pointed look my way. I threw my hands up. "Hey, I couldn't resist!"
"Oh, and one for Corgie Elstrebachen," finished my sister, sending another look my way.
"Hey, that one wasn't me!" It definitely was, but I wouldn't let her know that.
Town meeting was enjoyable already, but it was a little nicer when Ethan was there. It was his first meeting and unfortunately, it was cut short by Miss Patty's date, but I think he got the image.
"Honestly, even I would pay to see a picture of a bird shitting on that Taylor dude," Ethan chuckled as we came out of the meeting.
I leaned my head on his shoulder. "Wouldn't everyone? You want to come back to my house?"
Ethan locked eyes with me. "Would your mom be okay with that?"
I gave him a perplexed look. "Of course, why wouldn't she?"
The boy shrugged and ran a hand through his messy hair. "She just seems really scary, that's all."
I bent over laughing. "Ethan, you think my mom is scary?"
"You're mom is scary," replied a familiar voice as Lisa came up to join the two of us with baby CeCe in her arms.
"Lisa, c'mon, she's not scary..." The two raised their eyebrows at me. "Okay, maybe she's intimidating," I turned to Ethan, "but deep down she does like you."
"But..." Ethan leaned his head toward mine.
I rolled my eyes. He knew everything. "But she does find you a little annoying because you're a Chilton kid," I quietly added.
"Aha!" A look of victory spread across Lisa's face. The loud noise had started the baby and she began to wail. "Oh, shit, I should get her home." She turned from the baby to me. "See you in the morning at Luke's?"
I nodded. "Just have my order all ready to go!"
My friend smiled and dipped her head. "Yup! Bye, Ethan. Bye Lucy."
My boyfriend and I waved goodbye to her and she raced back home, CeCe's cries still pretty noisy.
"So, what do you say about going home?" I asked, putting a hand on Ethan's chest and waggling my eyes brows.
He smirked then went back to running his hand through his already messy head of hair. "Not tonight, Cil. I still have to do homework and stuff."
