“Where is my brother?” Samuel asked. He was looking outside the window and was looking at the children playing.
“He had an accident” John said.
“What type?” Samuel asked.
Then when they had stopped in front of the hospital, they went down the car, and went to the morgue part of the hospital. Samuel was now being scared. He is still hoping that he can still be able to talk to his brother again.
“I am here for Jonathan Ringo V. Davis Sr. please” John said to the woman who was watching the corpses inside the morgue.
“Please come follow me. So when do you decide to pick him up for his funeral?” the woman asked.
“What funeral? Why? Where is my brother?” Samuel was now really nervous.
“Here he is” John pointed at the body of Old Man Ringo. He was lying down a small bed. He has a smile on his face.
“Oh my dear brother. My poor, poor brother. What happened to you? Why? Who could’ve done such a thing?” Samuel asked, as he was hugging the dead body of his beloved brother.
“Please leave us for a moment” John said to the lady.
“Okay, Just call me” the woman said.
“Look here, there was this man who tried to kill me. Well that man accidentally shot Ringo instead of me. I am truly sorry” John said, as he bowed his head.
“Look here sonny. It is obviously not your fault. Can you show me where he used to live?” Samuel said, as he was wiping his tears.
“Come follow me” John said.
“Are you two gentlemen done with your moment?” the woman asked.
“Yeah, were done. We will pick up the body tomorrow for the funeral services” John said.
“Okay sir. You have a nice day” the woman said.
After a few minutes they were outside the hospital and inside the car. It was already seven in the evening. John drove the car to his former apartment. He still had the key so he opened the gate. He showed Samuel the door of Old Man Ringo’s house.
“This is where we used to play together when we were younger” Samuel said.
“Wow. What happened?” John asked.
“Well, when we were getting a little older, I ran away from home. Because of this our parents split apart. My mother took my sister and my father stayed here with my brother Ringo. My father only lasted two years with Ringo until he met a tragic accident. That is when my brother started looking for me. He found me in the carnival. Working as a cotton candy vendor, and sleeping inside empty stalls. He told me to live with him. Well I accepted and stayed with him. We were only separated because of world war two. We met again five years after the war. I was living near the carnival, and he was living here” Samuel said, as he wiped his tears because he remembered his brother.
“Come let us go inside” John said as he opened the door.
Inside the house John saw lots of pictures of Old Man Ringo, with Samuel wearing their military uniforms, their baby pictures and their family pictures. Then on top of the piano he saw an urn which had a label that said “Randolph V. Harrison III, loving father, his memory shall remain with us forever”. When John approached it and whispered to himself.
“Hey there Ringo, now you can be with your family again. You will see your long dead son. I am so happy for you”
“Ah, father’s urn. I remembered the day when we threw it into the sea. It was raining that day. It was as if, the heavens were sympathizing with us” Samuel said. Samuel enjoyed lavishing in the memory of his brother. Then he saw a small paper in between the photo album Samuel was reading. It was entitled on top: My Last Will and Testament.
