It was four in the morning. John and Ted were fast asleep, the soldiers who were supposed to keep watch over them has also went to sleep. As they were sleeping, a shadowy figure approached the two of them.
“Réveiller!(Wake up!)” the shadowy figured whisper.
“Hey, Ted, there is a weird man here” John lazily said, because he was still too dazed from sleeping.
“Voulez-vous rester ici et mourir? Huh, le tant que vous? Etes suivez-moi en liberté?( Do you want to stay here and die? Huh, the both of you? Are follow me into freedom?)” the shadowy man said. As he went towards the light, he appeared to be a bearded fellow.
“What did he say Ted?” John asked.
“He said, he will free us from these chains” Ted answered. As he said this, he turned to the man and said, “Oui, nous donner ce goût de la liberté comme nouveau (Yes, give us what freedom tastes like again.)”
“Très bien. Ici, permettez-moi de résoudre ces verrous pour vous(Very well. Here, let me fix those locks for you)” the man said, as he knelt, and started to destroy the padlocks which were holding John and Ted.
“Qui êtes-vous et pourquoi êtes-vous nous aidez grand monsieur? (Who are you, and why are you helping us great sir?)” Ted asked excitedly.
“Chut ... Baisse d'un ton, ou vous réveiller les gardes. Je suis Cervantes. Je fais partie d'une guérilla visant à renverser la monarchie française et mettre fin au règne de la terreur.( Shh...keep your voice down, or you will wake up the guards. I am Cervantes. I am part of a guerilla aimed at overthrowing the French monarchy and ending the reign of terror.)” the man said, who’s name appears to be Cervantes.
“Ensuite, si tel est le cas, pourquoi vous nous aidez? (Then if that is the case, why are you helping us?)” Ted asked.
As the two were talking, Cervantes, grabbed a small flask of acid, and poured it on John and Ted’s chains. Some of the acid, burned John’s skin off, so he accidentally shouted but closed his mouth quickly.
“Vous! Tais-toi Imbecil, sinon nous allons être pris, et je vais aussi être guillotiné. (You! Shut up you imbecil, or else we will be caught, and I will too be guillotined)” Cervantes angrily said, as he pointed at John.
“I am so glad, I can’t understand you, because that sounded really painful” John said, as he rubbed his hands.
“Maintenant, revenons à vous. Où étions-nous? Oh oui! Vous demandez beaucoup de questions. Eh bien, si vous voulez vraiment savoir, c'est parce que nous avons besoin de remuer les gens. Nous avons besoin de provoquer le chaos quelque part pour que nos forces de guérilla pour attaquer et destory la monarchie. Nous avons besoin de détourner les attentions des gardes, et depuis les deux vous sera l'événement principal pour demain. Votre escapade sera une excellente occasion (Now back to you. Where were we? Oh yes! You ask so many questions. Well if you really want to know, it's because we need to stir the people up. We need to cause chaos somewhere in order for our guerilla forces to attack and destory the monarchy. We need the divert the guards attentions, and since the both of you will be the main event for tomorrow. Your escape will be a great opportunity)” Cervantes said, as he helped both John and Ted stand up.
“Merci de nous libérer. Nous vous devons la vie (Thanks for freeing us. We owe you our lives)” Ted answered as he shook Cervantes’ hand.
“Votre liberté, c'est ce que nous, les gens normaux ne devrait remercier. Bientôt, nous serons tous libres de la tyrannie. (Your freedom, is what we, the normal folk should thank for. Soon, we will all be free from tyranny.)” Cervantes said. “Maintenant, dépêchons-nous, sinon nous allons prendre! (Now, let us hurry or else we will get caught!)” he added as he dragged the both of them.
