After a few series of gunshots that followed, the prison walls were marked with blood. John turned around and saw the bodies of five soldiers with their bodies tattered with bullets. He looked out the prison door and saw a few guerilla soldiers, freeing the other prisoners. The others were reloading their rifles, while some were fighting off the other soldiers who were trying to enter the prison with their swords.
Then, a man with an eye patch and a small beard came up to John, and pulled him out of the prison cell. The man pulled the sword from his scabbard, and walked towards the soldiers who were entering the door. He was not stricken with fear, for as he was walking through them, he was just brandishing his blade calmly at the soldiers, as they quickly fell to the ground. Then, the barricade created by the guerilla forces on the prison was soon destroyed, and as the door swung open, a small company of French soldiers have their guns aimed at John and the man. The man hugged John, and jumped towards the side to avoid the bullets. As they were cleared from the way, the other guerilla forces had their guns already aimed at the soldiers and so they released their angered bullets inside their muskets, and then so started a volley of gunshots erupted inside the prison.
John was sitting behind the piles of boxes. He looked at the man and he didn’t know how to say thank you in French so he did weird actions. “I don’t know how to say thank you in French sir, but….uhmm…..hey, thank you for saving my life” John said.
“Qu'avez-vous dit? (What did you say?)” the man asked John.
“Yeah, I don’t know what you even said” John replied.
“Nah, I am just kidding. Hi, my name is Angelico. I am not from France, I am an Italian man who wants to help the cause” Angelico said, as he fixed his eye patch, and as he scrubbed his beard.
“Oh, finally someone who can under stand me! Wait, if you are Italian, how come you can speak in English?” John asked.
“Oh, my father is a British man, and my mother was an Italian woman from Venice” Angelico replied.
“Oh how about…?” John asked again, but then Angelico covered his mouth, as soon as the fighting had already began, between the French forces and the guerilla forces. He then looked at the dead French soldier by his side, then he took the sword which was on the dead man’s hand. Angelico picked it up and gave the blade to John.
“Look, enough questions. Let us just clear this prison out. Do you know how to use this thing?” Angelico said, as he looked outside and saw the French forces and the guerilla forces destroying one another.
“Why of course, I even remember the time when-” John answered;
“No more questions. Grab a sword and slash thru the hordes of French soldiers” Angelico said, as he gave the blade to John. As he gave the sword, Angelico signaled his hand so that everyone in his area to charge directly into the middle of the town square. Then a great fighting has began as the first few forces of the guerilla who was being led by Angelico was to be confronted by the French leader, Lafayette. At the order of both generals, they began the angry exchange of gunshots flying in all directions, the brandishing of the swords, and the whole ground become littered with dead bodies from both sides. The battle was very bloody, and the worst part was that everyone was exhausted. The guerilla forces hid inside the small huts surrounding the town square. So, as they rested the French soldiers took advantage, and burned the small tavern.
“Tout le monde va! Charge! Que personne ne sera épargné (Everybody go! Charge! Let no man be spared)” Angelico shouted at his group of guerilla forces. Everyone came out of their burning taverns. In front of Lafayette was an army of semi-cooked guerilla soldiers. John looked at Lafayette’s French soldiers reloading their guns. Then John quickly looked at his sword, and he saw in the reflection on the mirror, Ted’s guillotine destroyed in pieces. He then quickly lunged forward and slashed as many as he can from the other group. The other guerilla warfare soldier took aim on the charging French soldiers and fired. As the French soldiers were being abused with the unending shower of bullets, the French soldiers then quickly retaliated and fired at the guerilla forces. The soldiers also delivered a painful blow on the guerilla army. Lafayette, the leader of the French army, had loaded all the cannons surrounding the town square and gave orders that they are to be fired. Then, as John saw the cannons around the town, he followed the path of the cannon balls. As he surveyed it, the cannon balls would explode in his area at that moment. The area were Ted’s guillotine was destroyed, but no sign of Ted was found. Then, Angelico’s right hand man, Quixote forced all the soldiers to meet the French soldiers head on inside the middle of the little town square. As they stepped forward into the middle of the town square the French cannoneers will fire at them and wipe them off the field. John ran to the ruins to look for Ted’s dead body, but alas he could not find anything. Then, John looked out and saw the two groups about to face each other, when suddenly it started to rain cannons.
